New single Reasons I Drink is OUT NOW with a new album Such Pretty Forks In The Road due 31 July 2020, her first in 8 years (she's lazy at the moment).

She's on CBS later today apparently talking about the new album.

There's also quite a bit of buzz around Jagged Little Pill The Musical which starts on Broadway in a couple of weeks. I think it sounds awful from the clips but each to their own.

don't think i'll ever unsee it.

She had short hair last year. Fortunately she grew it and/or is wearing extensions now. Not that there's anything wrong with short hair but I just associate her so much with her long hair that it's hard to stomach.

Oh and as much as I love her OUVRE, nothing is ever going to top the ANGRY KICK in the BALLS that is You Oughta Know for me.

"Such pretty forks in the road" is a lyric from one of the new songs she wrote for the musical so presumably her version of that will be on the album somewhere.

I can't help but feel that the announcement insta is a LITTLE shady to poor old Liz. :bruised:

It's very "Also aboard, LIMEY COMEDIENNE STACEY PULLMAN"

It does have the air of “Also appearing, even though we didn’t ASK  ...Liz Phair.”

Bit of a cheek considering Alanis stole Liz’s Grammy.

It might be because Liz will only be appearing on select dates of the tour whilst Garbage will be there for the whole haul? That's what I'd like to think. Surely Alanis is far too enlightened and spiritually enriched to be shady in 2019?

Oh I don’t believe it’s anything to do with Alanis at all. Unless she’s designing her own posters. :D

Alanis has always been in the “always liked never loved” category for me along with the likes of peak Sheryl Crow and Natalie Imbruglia. I’d probably have upgraded her if the likes of Polly, Kate, Aimee, Tori, Fiona, Heather to name a few hadn’t been around.

Albums:

1 Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie
2 Under Rug Swept
3 Jagged Little Pill
4 So Called Chaos
5 Flavors Of Entanglement
6 Havoc And Bright Lights

12 of her best songs:

You Oughta Know
Hand In My Pocket
Thank U
So Pure
Joining You
Hands Clean
Precious Illusions
You Owe Me Nothing In Return
Doth I Protest Too Much
Everything
Straitjacket
Guardian

Isn’t it a tad odd she’s choosing to tour JLP when she has a new album out? It’s a great bill, though Alanis is my 3rd favourite on it.

Jagged Little Pill was such a significant album for me at the time though; and to a lesser extent Supposed and even Under Rug Swept. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Not at all. JLP25th anniversary tour is far more likely to sell concert tickets than a new album!

Her set lists are always JLP heavy anyway, so she might as well sell the tour at an angle that will shift more tickets.
