Succession

I hope it’s not Greg, it doesn’t feel ”big” enough.

i really enjoy the show. i quite like how they jump in time a bit after every episode, it just always feels like so much is happening.

Yes! Love the fast pace, it’s never eventless.

That boat was amazing.

Very satisfying finale with so many highlights, Willa throwing the tablet overboard, he ate my fucking chicken and everything Greg.

I can’t believe that I have to wait 9 months for a new season.

hbo go is so shit. and hateful. it keeps showing me "new episdode" on succession.

9 fucking months!

speaking of. how many more years this westworld?

oooh when Ken gave him the good old Judas kiss I just knew he was gonna bring it :disco:

it’s so well written, everyone is pretty unlikeable but then they each get a vulnerable opening that makes you root for them

I don’t think there’s a superfluous character in this, well maybe the Buscemi of communications from the tourism departments who inexplicably ended up in the inner sanctum in the space of an episode

I've watched this over the last couple of weeks and it is indeed SENSATIONAL when I don't zone out any time there's any kind of conversation about business

Assorted thoughts
  • Do I fancy Kendall? I go back and forth but I'm leaning towards yes. Scruffier the better, and that voice :horny:
  • I definitely fancy the Nazi at the news station
  • "You'd better be smelling your fucking armpit Rolumus" :kim:
  • Remember when we saw marks on Logan's back as he was getting out of the pool? I wonder why that hasn't been followed up on (yet)
  • What kind of a surname is Wamsgans
  • That THEME!
  • "BUT" :disco::disco:
  • Roman Roy QoL

Triple it! :bruised:

BBC have been showing “Rise of The Murdoch Dynasty” which was clearly made to tie in with the release of Season 3 - it has plinky plonky music, home videos and vast use of the word “succession” but it’s very good. I knew Succession was loosely based around the Murdochs’s but wasn’t aware just how much - especially the personalities of his children. It goes into lots of nice detail and makes you very aware how much power Murdoch has in politics :(

I absolutely love this show

When the show was first made the intention was to base it loosely around those general families - the Maxwells, Murdochs, Rothschilds, the Dursts, the Trumps, while not reflecting anyone specific - that all clearly changed as the characters found their feet as there are now some OBVIOUS parallels to specific people and situations :eyes: ...I did :o that they WENT THERE with Connor running for president :D

This always had the potential to break out and now with the slew of Emmy nominations it might become the hit drama HBO needs.

I’ve been watching this again from the start thanks to my slightly broken Sky account.

It’s just so fucking good and lends itself to a rewatch very well - lots of plot points that come up later are glanced at even in the very first episode (Logan hitting Roman).

I’ve just finished the episode where they try and vote him off the board which is quite frankly where Succession shines - anything with them all round a table thrashing it out is terrific, thrilling viewing. See also the takeover talks with Pierce.

Hope it succeeds at the Emmys

I remember being very stressed watching the boardroom episode because it was so intense and full of twists and turns and very unpredictable, and that’s what impressed me most - it’s great when you can have such a visceral reaction to something without blood and gore and violence

Yes exactly. Same with the Boar on The Floor. I was watching it through my fingers - not because it was cringey, but because it was horrifying. The amount of power Logan holds was unbelievable and scary. And I couldn’t help but feel something like that has definitely happened in real life.

Probably on the The Ellen Show.

So far behind on this but fucking love it just finished tonight. Season 2 really did take it up a notch and nice to get to know more about the characters, as it was less about his illness. Love the weird Gerri/Roman relationship

Yay! I think I need to rewatch the first 2 seasons to prepare. I watched them all in a week and hardly remember much beyond loving it

Wait, all this time I thought this was a period drama.

Pretty promo

Just enough time to rewatch the first 2 seasons :disco:

Enjoying the different formations depending on where you're seeing the image

Yeah I’m not sure why you’d enter the thread once the episode is out if you haven’t seen it.

Well this one is day and date with the US so shouldn’t be problematic

Unlike C4 and their ridiculous two month delay of Handmaids Tale, one of the biggest shows in the world :manson:
