The Property Porn Thread

I used to live in a room with no windows for £40 a week, I still get angry that I did that to myself

All this space AND easy access to the lovely bars and boutiques in London’s glamorous Erith!

That looks very similar to the “studio flat” below us that our landlord rents out. It’s pretty much a kitchen with a bed in it and a shower/toilet combo. Oddly we pay much less to live above in a 2 bedroom split level large flat with 2 bathrooms.

Abbey Wood Moopmeet NOW!

Here are some strangers who are just friends we haven’t met yet enjoying their drinks at one of Thamesmead’s more bijou and exclusive wine bars :disco:

I have tried to encourage that awful @Kate to move there but she WON’T be told
On this evidence, I know I would if I was single :horny:

Moopy's regular cadre of perverts more than willing to befriend them for a game of darts and a sniff under their dewlaps, I'm sure :o

I know I have a noted TASTE FOR GRIM but Thamesmead / Abbey Wood really is one step too far

it’s fucking HORRIBLE

Are the sights the two(!) fruit machines in the background? Talk about pushing the boat out :disco:

I've never heard of Abbey Wood, so googled it. Didn't sound up to much, but lovely range of eateries.
:D I’ve actually been to that branch. I had a very brief GRIM DAY OUT in Abbey Wood on one occasion until it got so grim that I had to draw it to a close

It has a caravan club!

The Abbey Wood Club Campsite feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds make this a 'green oasis', with tent pitches and pods also available. This campsite's unique selling point is its location - there are shops and good railway connections, providing frequent services to central London in just 35 minutes, within walking distance of the site. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory and National Maritime Museum.

Sounds positively idyllic!

If the so-called CLUB CAMPSITE is that place for those passing (and possibly following) through where I saw a WEEPING DONKEY chained up, then I can confirm it is indeed GORGEOUS

“Positively rural” :D

Esoecially when you look over the road and see the concrete hell built on SINKING GROUND :disco:

The one I was thinking of is actually the Thistlebrook site

SORRY EVERYONE

I assume that “positively rural” here means “excellent place to dump a body”.

BITING MY TONGUE about Abbey Wood :D
:D Oh it’s such a NO NO. I can’t believe they’re trying to make it the new Woolwich (ahem) by proclaiming BUY NOW - CROSSRAIL IS COMING!

It’s like this ridiculous mission to make Silvertown the new place to be. You can’t! It’s HORRIBLE!
