ABBA - Voyage

To my bitter disappointment…the illustrious Mamma Mia LIVE TAVERNA EXPERIENCE :disco: has almost entirely GLOWING Trip advisor Reviews :( and the few negative ones it does have aren’t even particularly funny.

What the venue is intended to look like from the outside

I'm tempted to go in for another date as general admission...

Is it just me who's not really fancying APPLAUDING HOLOGRAMS or whatever the word for them is? (I am NOT referring to them as ABBAtars.) Obviously I am however very much here for the ALBUM :disco:

How do you even throw a bottle of piss at a hologram?

On purpose? I only chose a matinee as I wasn't sure we could get back from the venue to Paddington in time for the last train on an evening show.

I thought I’d picked evening but I guess it works as I can do this in the afternoon then go out after.

it’s my friends birthday this weekend so it’s his present.

I think it's been selling around 100k a year for a while now. I remember posting the year by year sales somewhere a while back.

Here we are, from a few years back in the Abba Gold overtakes Sgt Pepper thread, from ukmix originally

I wonder if they'll release Gold after this era with EXTRA TRACKS?

Incidentally it has lost a lot of ground against Queen's Greatest Hits in the last few years, but last week climbed above it in the chart for the first time in ages - possibly even since the Bohemian Rhapsody film.

They would be daft not to, wouldn't they? I'm half surprised they didn't just do an edition of Voyage as a second disc in a Gold repackage.

Just checking the tfl planner, and by bus it will take longer to get from Paddington to the venue than it will for me to get from Bristol to London :D

Oh God you wouldn't want to go by BUS from Paddington to the sumptuously named PUDDING MILL LANE (:D - I've only just discovered where exactly it is)

I wouldn't use the bus, it just came up as a result. I tend not to have much luck with London buses and usually end up in the wrong place.

Besides, it's DLR isn't it, which remains something of a THRILL for me.

Oh I still LOVE any opportunity to use the DLR, despite having lived in London for five hundred years :disco:

It's like a fairground ride, without the middle aged worry of having your sciatica triggered :disco:

Anyway, I somewhat level headedly decided against buying more Voyage tickets. If/when they extend the booking period I may well get some more around Christmas next year.

I know I could check this myself but I'd much rather have a IN-LOUNGE CHAT about it: for how long are the shows going on in terms of months? I initially thought that it was for only three months or so, but I bet Benny in particular isn't one for passing on an opportunity to rake in some more cash for herring and Skåne, so I imagine it's more likely to be YEARS

It's booking from the end of May to the start of October at the moment.

It’s a purpose built arena so I imagine the plan is for it to be semi-permanent after the initial run.

The holograms might not appreciate it, but Little Boots chained to the keyboard surely will.
