SEMI FINAL ONE SAVES
Moldova saved by the Televote (2nd vs 13th) :o
Switzerland saved by the Juries (5th vs 16th) :o

Croatia came 10th with the Juries, 12th with Televote
Albania came 9th with the Televote, 14th with the Juries

The number of jury announcements that "failed" and had to be announceed by Martin was very unusual. I've seen speculation online that this may have been related to various jury results being disqualified and replaced by simulated scores.

SEMI FINAL TWO SAVES
Romania saved by the Televote (5th vs 14th)
Azerbaijan saved by the Juries (6th vs 18th NUL!) :o!

North Macedonia came 10th with the Juries, 15th with the Televote
Cyprus came 9th with the Televote, 17th LAST with the Juries :o

Good thing is that the gap between 10th and 11th in both SFs was pretty big.

But some wonky stuff happened this week, incl. tonight.

Azerbaijan had a suspiciously high number of jury 12s imho

But yeah, some of the discrepancies between jury and public are bonkers again this year. Greece winning SF1 with juriesand COMING NINTH in the televote.

DOUBLE HANDJOB (Jury 12 and Televote 12)

🇺🇦 Ukraine - from Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland
🇷🇸 Serbia - from Croatia and Montenegro

Yes the EBU has now confirmed it - https://eurovision.tv/mediacentre/release/ebu-statement-voting-during-2022-shows

In the analysis of jury voting by the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) pan-European voting partner after the Second Dress Rehearsal of the Second Semi-Final of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, certain irregular voting patterns were identified in the results of six countries.

In order to comply with the Contest’s Voting Instructions, the EBU worked with its voting partner to calculate a substitute aggregated result for each country concerned for both the Second-Semi Final and the Grand Final (calculated based on the results of other countries with similar voting records).

This process was acknowledged by the Independent Voting Monitor.

The EBU takes any suspected attempts to manipulate the voting at the Eurovision Song Contest extremely seriously and has the right to remove such votes in accordance with the Official Voting Instructions, irrespective of whether or not such votes are likely to influence the results and/or outcome of the voting.

Australia and Azerbaijan really are interesting splits :eyes:

I am assuming that the juries disqualified basically downgraded all the favourites in the final to last?

I’m 99% certain we have seen this before, but the results were not discarded

Spain doing so well on both televote and with the juries really was marvellous to see

The juries certainly made some choices but thank fuck they were here this year. I don’t think I could have sat through that landslide on televotes.

WINNING TOTAL RANK SINCE 2016

2017 🇵🇹Portugal "Amar pelos dois" Salvador Sobral 758
2022 🇺🇦Ukraine "Stefania" Kalush Orchestra 631
2016 🇺🇦Ukraine "1944" Jamala 534
2018 🇮🇱Israel "Toy" Netta 529
2021 🇮🇹Italy "Zitti e buoni" Måneskin 524
2019 🇳🇱Netherlands "Arcade" Duncan Laurence 498

So just to summarise, these were Georgia, Azerbaijan, Poland, San Marino, Moldova, Romania and Montenegro

Do we know what votes these juries submitted or just the ones they replaced them with?

That Portugal record remains utterly BAFFLING to this DAY!
Can you even HUM it

It’s no saudade, saudade that’s for sure

Chanel’s result made me so happy - she had quite a tough time in the immediate aftermath of Benidorm Fest so it was lovely to see (and like Sam, she was clearly just thrilled to be doing so well)

Full scale war still doesn’t get you within 100 points of Salvador? It’s no TELEMOVEIS!
