Good to see her winning but felt bad for Frech in that match as she contributed a lot and was barely acknowledged by the crowd leaving the court.

Impressed by the effortless shades Pliskova has been dishing out this week.

Once a blunt icon, always a blunt icon. :disco:

His team have specifically requested that no one post pictures or images of the injury, so I certainly hope that no one does that.

Zverev rolling his ankle so badly that he has to retire vs Nadal and leave in wheelchair / on crutches.

Still slamless, missed his chance to become World #1.

Heartbreaking :eyes:
The first set and for most of the second Zverev was the better player. I could have seen that going to 5 sets.

I hope Cilic can get back into this match, I'd love to see him win another slam.

Edit: Too late.

I don’t think Zverev was taking that to five with the chances he was missing when close to winning both, especially his second serves but agreed I think for a lot of it he looked the more dangerous player.

Too bad about Zverev, I haven't watched the footage yet but I hope it's serious enough that we don't have to see him at Wimbledon?!

Oh, he won't be. When you roll over like that your ligaments done in. 4-6 weeks without putting proper weight on the foot, let alone strenuous physical activity.

Out for 2-3 months minimum.

Are they getting Virginia Wade down off the top of that cupboard to FILL IN?

I bloody hope not. She’s ancient too. It’ll most likely be Claire Balding for a while but would be nice to have someone actually connected with Tennis. I don’t think Annabel Croft would be up to it though.

Jeez, Annabel Croft should be nowhere near this gig. I can (perhaps) tolerate her for commentary on a legends doubles on court 3 at 6.45pm on the second Tuesday via the red button.

Annabel has got her head too deep in vax conspiracies and is busy giving interviews about tennis to Piers Morgan, so she really hasn't helped herself here, to begin with.

Some great results all round for the British ladies this grass court season. Bouter and Burrage's wins have been pretty impressive when you consider their ranking!

I know Laura Robson is only 28, but she was being interviewed on the BBC this morning and she’s very confident and articulate. Is she going to move to broadcasting? I reckon she could.

She’s been a regular on the Radio 5 team for several years.

I hope she does. Her and Naomi Broady are great commentators.

Another tough opponent next for Emma next against Caroline Garcia. Staying injury free seems to be her main challenge though.

Heather Watson up 5-2, bungled it up and lost the tiebreak.

She's really not the player she was, ever since she narrowly lost to Serena in 2015. It's like a switch turned off and she can't get any kind of form.
