Least disgusting?

Jesus christ. There really are constant new depths to be plumbed.

As much as I can (and admittedly do because what choice is there) amuse myself like many thinking how "hilarious" Liz Truss would be in power and destroy the party further, you then remember what god awful damage can be done in the meantime and suddenly it's not funny any more.

Sunak might be more coherent, but coherent in even MORE AWFUL things.

Ugh it's all gross

Maybe her dad just doesn’t like pork.

I think the absolute horror scenario of my child not only growing up to be a tory, but a Tory Prime Minister, would be my absolute worst fear as a parent. Joint with them becoming a nonce

OLD ELLEN’S parents sat her down on her 18th birthday and said “we love you, we’ll always stand by you, through thick and thin, even if you committed a crime, you’re our daughter, but we need you to know that if you ever vote Tory, that will be the end of our relationship”.

:D :disco:

Why does the name OLD ELLEN always make me laugh

Imagine your friends calling you that, even with love :D

I’m not sure what’s worse. The Maggie T tribute act or the cheers from those foaming at the mouth Little Englanders.

So she’s said she’s cutting civil servants holiday entitlement from 27 days to 25, and slashing their pay.

And she wants to stop solar farms

Sorry but what is going on here

Seems fairly easy to become a conservative prime minister

  1. LESS TAXES FOR OLD PEOPLE
  2. FUCK THE ENVIRONMENT, THAT'S A YOUNG PERSONS PROBLEM AND IT'S ONLY A BIT OF WEATHER NOT LIKE 1976
  3. SEND ALL IMMIGANTS TO LESOTHO
  4. CUT ALL BENEFITS, THE WORKSHY SCROUNGERS
  5. CUT INCOME TAX TO 16%. NO, 12%. MAYBE 5%. FUCK IT, WE DON'T NEED SERVICES
*completely ignores cost of living crisis sending 50% of the UK in to fuel poverty*

The Nicola Sturgeon thing is disgusting

The Tories are the main reason we have an SNP and an independent majority in Scotland. If she really wanted to keep the union going, she’s going a fucking stupid way about it

Seriously moopy she’s not going to be the camp amusing soft-downturn-of-the-Tories you think she is. She’s a fucking liability at one of the most fragile times for this country. It’s going to be a hellish few years.
I’d say she’s much, much more likely to lose an election than Sunak though.

So put the poor and vulnerable through two years of abject misery for the slight hope that they’re more likely to lose an election, even if far from
guaranteed?

I just don’t get it.

Because Sunak isn't going to be discernibly much better short term, and a much bigger danger longer term.

Bear in mind I’m the sort of person that benefits personally from a Truss leader in the same way that I personally benefited from Boris, May and Cameron. The incoming economic horrors won’t really impact me either. I’m thinking about what’s coming for all those who don’t vote Tory, or do because Brexit and are too stupid to make the connection. Either way people don’t deserve to die or have their homes repossessed because we want a couple of years of memes and a slightly better chance of a Labour victory

Sunak cares EVEN LESS about the poor and vulnerable! They’re practically dead to him.

I don’t like Sunak either but he’s more likely to surround himself with a new group of Tories. Similarly nasty pieces of work but potentially able to deal with a crisis even if it means kicking the can down the road

Truss will have a cabinet of Boris Johnson, Nadine, Rees Mogg and that shower. It’ll be the absolute same as before, maybe worse.

The problem is that all of that is happening anyway. Sunak is a hardcore fiscal conservative, which means that his Premiership would be marked by vicious austerity for however long it lasts, with all of the associated negative effects on the poorest and most vulnerable. Sunak is marginally better than Truss, but seven years plus of him would be much worse than two of Truss followed by a better chance of a Labour government.

They wont last 2 years. This winter is going to be absolute hell, and people will riot.
