Fucking hell...really?
I can imagine some outpouring of support (in sheer defiance rather than sympathy is the only reason I can see, they're not the ones being invaded here), but I would hope there would be enough people who might have originally voted who now won't to cancel that out. At...
Well it's not like there's many doing that basic type of ballad so it might slip through regardless of anything else. Hopefully not.
Do we think their public vote (or jury, for that matter) is going to be somewhat quashed this year, or actually even elevated more than usual? If the latter does...
This has now been running so long, with so many ASFMs, that I went to submit a song a couple of contests ago, forgetting that not only had it been chosen before, but I think it actually won :D
Anyway, entered, I think
Oh this is rather beautiful. It fills that ballad/country-specific sound that had been lacking somewhat this year. It all looks very appealing on the eye too.
The only thing is, I wish it had a grander finish, as it just kind of...stops.
I fear for its chances, which is sad because it would...
Also maybe in the long run Effortless was always going to be strictly GAY INTEREST. I assume she walked the online homosexual category to win her semi or something
I honestly don't think a straight person would even consider the sheer :disco: power of not one, but two iconic chorus lines...
I think most people had accepted she wasn't winning, but yeah her lack of budget and staging really stood out tonight unfortunately. Still the best song for me this year, but you can absolutely see why it got lost - especially when even songs like LIAMOO had more memorable stage shows.
Which...
I thought Lisa was quite good really and it was nice to hear a "regular" ballad in the mix, so a bit sad she ended up so low.
Dotter sounded like she was dying unfortunately at the end. She's astonishingly youthful for someone who is nearly 37(!) though so she can just be glad of that next time...
Does this happen very often? I mean, with the sheer gap Cazzi beat her by considering Jacqline won the heat?
I think rather than getting lost, Cazzi's stood out even more on the night for being so colourful and joyous, whereas Jacqline's staging was quite dark and the song probably got lost in...
There's not really a chorus
It feels like smoke and mirrors on all levels.
It all looks quite impressive I suppose and they sing okay. That's as much excitement as I can muster.
It was so joyful, and that was even more obvious tonight among the rest. I'm pleased she did so well. Also it's such a good song, the hooks are perfection!
Did they keep the voting open after revealing the scores from each country? Surely that's a bit off?
Not that it'll make any difference I'm sure but still
