One of the best parts of Johnson being caught with his fingers in the till is the parade of sycophantic tories debasing themselves to cover for him.
Nadhim Zahawi being the absolute worst of the bunch - always the first to defend but usually the most hopeless and poorly researched. Have some dignity man!

For a bunch of habitual liars, they're surprisingly terrible at bullshit.

I guess they feel they don't need to be. Their attitude is "so what, fuck you" regardless. I think Johnson finds the flimsiness of the lies amusing. Sometimes he can't stop his face contorting into a grin, like an evil porridge monster.

Not being funny but why are they only talking NOW? Where were they when Boris was clinging on to his job and the general mood was he needed to go?

GREAT TIMING GANG THANKS

Among core Labour supporters and people like us? No. Among the general public at large, based on my recent experience, yes

But I suppose it depends where you hang about and who you speak to (and what you read)

Has that mood shifted though? I only see things getting worse for him day by day.
I’ve not seen any bounce back for him since it all kicked off. The council elections weren’t the catastrophe they might have been a month or two earlier, but they were still a disaster which would have spelt the end for any other party leader.

Just started watching the Laura K programme. The fast cuts of her marching about, hunting down the news are just too much.

Laura's incredulous response 'FOUR O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON?! Was WINE TIME?' :D

Presumably five thirty would have been slightly more acceptable.

The polling is poor for them in all aspects - voting intention, leadership, best PM and issue-led. The local elections were bad and only masked, marginally, by Labour starting from a high comparable base. Put that with the likelihood that they will at the very least lose their majority at the next election, bear in mind that in such a situation they are now un-coalitionable, and they are approaching truly screwed territory.

I haven’t seen anything but surely this relates to working hours? I mean, drinking on the job on taxpayer’s money is not really on, pandemic or not…

[Martin Re\nolds] [19:36] ³Best of luck ± a complete non story but better than them
focusing on our drinks (which we seem to have got away with).´

:goodgrief:

The event lasted for a number of hours. There was excessive alcohol consumption
by some individuals. One individual was sick. There was a minor altercation
between two other individuals.

Well I'm glad some people were having a nice lockdown.
