the WM songstress is back with the first single from his second album, coming Dec 31

swipe for instrumental clip. sounds boppy! not sure who that is on the cover mind :D

From the clips he has posted the new stuff all sounds very summery and Europoppy.

Yes that is surely someone else entirely in that image though :D

I'm still reeling from that DIRE live streamed concert he put on during lockdown

Talk about FALSE ADVERTISING

Tom shuffling around a stage with ZERO stage presence whilst performing to a couple of people off camera like it was the first time he'd ever held a mic was not it.

:D

I asked my friend who went to his tour how it was but he got so smashed he didn't remember a thing. probably FOR THE BEST.

I don't know yet if I like this

the production is very full on

I don't mind it on initial listens but it isn't the best vocal I've heard from him. He is very much leaning into the turn of the millennium europop sound, it almost feels like the Vengabus is coming.

I hope it doesn't just become all too self aware and knowing

I wish him ALL THE BEST but can he just do his podcast again!!

I wasn't too keen on Kiss It, the last single, but this garage dig is a bit of an improvement:

that's better. still not that exciting though. his music has just fundamentally lost something.

I've just looked and he is charging EIGHTEEN POUNDS for a single CD (probably a CD-R) PLUS a further SEVEN POUNDS EIGHTY PENCE for delivery (the same as charged for the vinyl). I know, independent artist and all that but really...

i'm not sure what's happened to his songwriting to be honest. this is the least awful of the 4 so let's celebrate that?

I really like him, he's a nice guy and he's fun live. Not sure I am into this album but I will stream it for support.

I definitely preferred the sound of Black Country Disco but it is a cute collection. The back end of the album in particular has some stronger moments.

The production is obviously quite different but Effigy feels a little reminiscent of some of BCD as a song.
