EastEnders 2025

  • Martin dies: Poor Stacy – after losing husband Bradley on the 25th live episode, she had to say a tearful goodbye to ex Martin, who seemed to succumb to his injuries just minutes after the pair decided to get remarried

I thought it was really well done and NO MISTAKES?

The end scene with Stacey shrieking then it running in to Julia’s Theme did tug at my heart strings. :(

After Sonia gave birth I thought she was having some sort of fit on the floor.

I enjoyed Bianca, Lauren and Sonia's bits, even if the little dishcloth baby was ludicrous.

Disappointed they carted Cindy off in the previous episode so we didn't get to see her chewing the scenery in real time.

I'm legit shocked they killed off the last Fowler

Oh and the paramedic who broke the news to Stace looked like he was trying not to laugh. Won't be going on the showreel I don't think.

With so many kids to support, I hope he had decent life insurance. They can’t just give James a holiday again every couple of years to say Martin went off on a construction job in Dubai to make a bunch of money.

Sonia giving birth to a machine washable child was :D

They’d best bump another couple of characters off before the week’s out; Emmerdale’s up to four corpses from this week and Eastenders doesn’t want to be outdone on their anniversary.

That’s it for the week love.

Loving the BBC's live reporting on this;

"Crush syndrome: what is it and what does it do?"

I agree with this second one. It's not Roxie and Ronnie levels of mad, but probably the most significant since then.

That said, killing off a proper long-term character did save the episode somewhat.

Letitia Dean bunking off ANOTHER live episode as well.

Lacey Turner is a great actress. Dare I say it, probably TOO GOOD for Eastenders now.

Angie's ghost and Sharon was a genius scene and totally worked in the eerie setting of the Vic. Absolutely brilliant and best part of the week

The Reiss stuff was brilliant too! From him popping round with a "good luck" card for Sonia :D And "Sounds like congratulations are in order!" and "That was close!" *THUD!* :D:D It was a brilliant dose of comedy. Over the years people have always said EastEnders couldn't do comedy. Yes it can, and in a far better way than Corrie can these days

There was rumours about Martin being killed but I never thought they'd actually do it :o It's shocking in one way because he's an original character but on the other hand i've always thought of James Alexandrou as Martin and never took to James Bye in the same way. I think they needed a big death for the anniversary and this was it

The Phil stuff was fantastic too, Steve just knocks it out the park again and again. In whole, it was a brilliant week but not perfect as parts of it did drag on. It still completely blows the other soaps out of the water though and it's a shame viewers still favour Corrie and Emmerdale more. Corrie especially is not in the same league. I do hope EastEnders makes 50?

Not a chance! The soaps are not getting any new viewers and most of the avid viewers have died off. I think they will all struggle to be here in the next 5 years as they just don’t really fit in to the new tv viewing habits.

It's interesting at work this week I was asking 'omg who saw Eastenders last night?!' and no one responded! They're all in their early 20's. I feel like back in the day everyone would have been talking about it

One million percent. I think the last live episode got over 10 million overnight, and this one got over 3? It’s lost 7 million viewers in 10 years.
