I imagine perhaps only @FetchFugly has registered an interest in the husband & wife duo Tennis before but I thought their final album as Tennis deserved a thread. I was shocked to read they’re calling it a day and doing a farewell tour but the first tracks released from it are all charming in a very Tennis way and follow on from the previous album ‘Pollen’ quite naturally to my ears. Album out on the 25th of this month.

I'm liking the three new songs. A shame they are calling it quits but I really hope in future we get to hear more of Alaina's voice in particular.

Sounds like she plans to do something but at least there’s this album for now. I think overall ‘Swimmer’ is my fave album of theirs but it’s a really solid back catalogue. It was a Moopy poster of yesteryear who introduced me to them.

I've got their album "Swimmer" on vinyl which I did very much like, but haven't explored further, as I wasn't sure if the other stuff might just be soundalikes. Shame they're splitting up, is it just a musical split?

Sad they're calling it quits. I've never taken a deep dive but everything I've heard of theirs I've really enjoyed - new tracks included.

I found the promo singles from their last album a bit disappointing and I don't think I ever listened to the album. I've definitely liked songs of theirs in the past but nothing that I can recall by name. I'll still check out this album. These tracks sound nice though.

^ For me they really are one of those bands who do require several listens for everything to bed but once it clicks it properly clicks.

The new album is on streaming here though I can’t see any physical options available in the UK yet.

I haven't listened to the album yet but Sister was on my Release Radar and it is typically lovely.

Strange that this seems to be a more limited release, the last two albums were pretty widely available I think (especially Swimmer).

They’ve announced a London date on their farewell tour on October 23rd and I really feel I should properly think about coming over.

It’s at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, any London giggers know if that’s a good venue and easily accessible? I know Google is my friend but it defeats the purpose of a forum too.
