A new Survivor games has begun! We are going back to 1985, 40 years ago for this one. Who will make it to the end of the game and who will get chopped? This is war!

Let's start as usual with Round 1. We have 20 acts competing in this first round. Only a third of them will make it into the next stage of the game. Who will get the axe and who will walk or sneak into the next round?

In this opening round, you can vote to SAVE UP TO 11 SONGS you most want to CARRY ON in the game. Cast your votes now!

"Frankie" was my trivia question for everyone on NYE when Kathy Sledge popped up on Jools Holland. Nobody got it right!

Anyone who voted for Bowie and Jagger is a massive fucking pervert, though.

I don't dislike the song, but the video which I can't separate it from is utterly horrific.

I can't criticise, I voted for 'If I Was'.

Although it has considerably more merit than that Jagger/ Bowie effort.

I like the way one of them stops to have a drink of coke mid-way through the dancing.

The Bowie Jagger track has the wonderful distinction of being the best and OG badly-dubbed video of all time

I love the fact that the edited comedy sound effect/no music version of Dancing In The Street has more views than the official music video on YouTube.

I only like eight of these so this was easy. 'Frankie' may not be 'Thinking of You' or 'He's the Greatest Dancer' but I think it's cute! 'I'm Your Man' is an underrated bop, I prefer it to the two Wham! behemoths. I will never get my head around the Undertones vocalist singing a song like 'A Good Heart' but it's a solid entry into the subgenre of winsome-but-forgotten 80s ditties.

I get that this will come down to 'Into the Groove' vs. 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)' - and I think both are great and probably the two most essential songs here so take no issue with that - but my fave song listed is 'Saving All My Love for You'. Just a gobsmackingly good vocal. Whitney really came right outta the gates like THAT (and served us a sidechick anthem for the ages), goddamn.

Voting for 'Dancing in the Street' is certainly a choice, but I gotta say

even when The Dame and ole Brenda were at their absolute fucking nadir, they were nothing short of ICONIC. Your faves could never. :disco:

I always feel like I should like You Spin Me Round more than I DO
