I still don’t understand how Amazon exclusive songs do so well on the chart. Who still uses Amazon music?

It has about a 20% market share, and if it's as aggressive as it has been in previous years, will be foisting Tom Grennan on you, like it or not.

Amazon Echo
Exactly this. And it has a very similar market share to Apple Music, but I suspect most Apple users are a little more discerning than Amazon Music users - or at least those on the Prime only tier.

I see his physical is released the week after next as well. Looks like they are going for it.

That said, I just asked Alexa to play Christmas music, and got Wham followed by Andy Williams the first time, and Mariah followed by Shakin Stevens the second.

And doesn't the first chart look include minimal streaming data?

Although his physical is out Dec 20th, you can download it from Amazon. So perhaps it's downloads accounting for that placing now?

The first look chart includes minimal Spotify data but Amazon are able to get their data in on time so that's why the first look favours Amazon tracks

Well that's a relief! Still time for Spotify to force Bobby Helms into a rightful top 5 position

I see Leona creeping back into the spotify daily top 50 today too.

I'm hoping for a festive duet of Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree with the Wee Papa Girl Rapper FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE, just to really piss Brenda Lee off.

Hopefully! Now if anyone could break the Wham / Mariah stranglehold on the charts this year, it's absolutely the CEO Shooter Twink

The midweeks today have Wham! back at #1, Mariah #2, and Tom Grennan #3.

And Ed Sheeran and Elton John falling to #38 (from #9 on Friday), so I'm assuming ACR has kicked in this week

For all that we've speculated the Christmas tracks are streaming less than in previous years

Kelly Clarkson (dreadful) on course to break the top 10 for the first time, and similarly Feliz Navidad (better) into the top 20

So annoying that most of the Tom Greenan streams are from a confused minute of people at home asking Alexa for a Christmas song and then asking her to SKIP QUICKLY when they were expecting to hear Chris Rea or Shakin' Stevens (but the stream still counts)

Any sign of Sam Ryder now he’s not being so handicapped by being an Amazon exclusive?

One place behind Cher. That'll be my Christmas chart battle to keep an eye on.

Please tell me this isn't a right wing grift before I enjoy the deserved mockery of Starmer
Unable to locate anything on the previous political leanings of the singer, but it sure is being enthusiastically championed by GB News.

"Granny Harmers" does smack of someone who has inhaled too many Daily Mail scarelines

The guy went to the same independent grammar school as Kier Starmer and claims to have known him.

I’m glad that this guy has finally found a cause to write a song about - fourteen years of the Tories killing funding for youth services, mental health, the NHS and provisions for the most vulnerable people in society didn’t inspire him, but well off pensioners having slightly less money than usual? Bust out the bontempi, it’ll not stand for such injustice.

I feel like the Leona track should really really spike on Christmas Eve, as it literally is One More Sleep. I'll be interested to see the figures. That's all.
