One of my most rewatchable favourites that always makes me laugh and cry. Did we know the Amazon have commissioned a TV series?

Apparently there was a short lived sitcom based on it in 1993 which produced 6 episodes with only 5 of them airing - seems a bit of a waste not to air the last one :emoji_baseball:

I like it VERY much and it's one of Madonna's best screen performances. She just seems effortless in it, which she rarely managed elsewhere.

Haven't watched it in YEARS, though.

I don’t know why because it’s meant to be a warm fluffy ending but the way it’s done, emphasising the fragility of life, is very melancholy. I’ve actually stopped the film before the end In the past to avoid the downer Forrest Gump has a similar tone.

Such a delightful film! I don't know the first thing about baseball, but I loved it at the time. Lovely performances and it's just so warm and sweet. Madge's song is a beaut too!
