Oh interesting! I wonder why his streaming collapsed. I've never listened to either, mind.
 
They're actually huge sales for 2021 for ABBA considering streaming will have barely come into it. I expected more, but it's still pretty damn good.

I expected more as well but then I read that it will be the biggest opening week of sales in 4 years if they beat Sheeran, and it’s already the biggest opening week of paid-for sales after only 3 days.

That they haven’t done even bigger numbers is indicative of the market (cue Adele shifting 800k in a day later this month).
 
And presumably those pre-orders not yet dispatched still aren't included?
 
any opening north of 150k is huge now. I predict 450k for Adele, but Adelemania has no point of comparison. I think ABBA will keep selling well and make it to at least 2x platinum which is pretty great honestly.
 
Voyage should theoretically be an absolute magnet for many present buyers.
 
Yes the one thing that would be a disappointment at this stage would be if it turns out to be another fanbase album that drops to #14 next week.

I’d like to think that what little there is left of the album gift market will see this through to Christmas.
 
Perhaps the 'fire' is just a PLOY to try and grab a second week, knowing they had sufficient pre-orders to get the first week :o

Speculation that some sales must have been missing for the jump of 50k in one day. Or perhaps it's more of the pre-orders being issued?
 
That's more like what I expected from the news re: pre-orders. That's a *lot* of vinyl.

Not that I've got any of them yet. I've not had a single item I placed with the official store yet, or dispatch email.

Just two from Japan, and the three exclusives collected from HMV and Rough Trade.

Amazon dispatched my CD box yesterday.
 
yeah they have two more sales days to add 19k, and did 13k yesterday so it seems very likely they'll get around 205k :o :disco:

I've still not received all my pre-orders, either...
 
They lost #1 on iTunes in the UK to Sheeran yesterday, but have now reclaimed it. Whether that's the Frida interview paying off, who knows?
