I went to this local gay party that is held once in 3 months.


Of course I hoped that they would play Just A Notion. They did play a Bumblebee remix which got a huge reception of the crowd. So as I was sipping from my Smirnoff Ice & Wodka Red Bulls mixed with a few beers I became the cutey of the evening.


I was in sarcastich bitch mode.


Suddenely Just A Notion came on. I knew it was time...I took the straw from my drink (drinking with a straw makes you look so much younger:P)


And I made a headset out of it...I climbed onto the podium..where this 18 year old fat cunt was acting like the song sucked. As I stepped up he stepped aside...and I made the motion with my head that he needed to back off. So he did of course. I love being intimidating. So my 2 back up dancers or whatever..Joost and Mark also climbed on stage and danced with me as I sang Just A Notion.


I nailed the rap part and well..juding by the amount of numbers I got I must have promoted ABBA. really well..


Annieways I had a blast. I was home at 7 o clock.


The fat guy from the stage came on to me..I was waiting near the toilets and he said to me...


He: You are child pornography (I get that all the time cause I look quite young)

Me: I´m glad you´re getting aroused

He: Your dancing was funny but that ABBA song sucks

Me: You know what sucks? An overweight, solariumaddict with a gut belly that it trying to squeeze himself in a way to tight shirt

He:*with an attitude* Don´t you know who I am?

Me: No. Do I wanna know? NO. You´re FAT FAT FAT! Please leave this party after me otherwise you´ll block the door when trying to exit


LOL. Ok I was a bitch last night..normally I am quite sweet but he was dissing ABBA.
 
My yellow vinyl version has already increased in value by two quid!

apparently there are a lot of skips/issues with the yellow vinyl pressing :( can anyone confirm?
 
We won't be playing it either. But I haven't seen any comments about it on Facebook groups.
 
I had a wee look on Discogs (28 formats already!) - no specific complaints about the HMV yellow vinyl but vinyl buying "audiophiles" are absolute pricks who are just never happy with anything so there are whinges about other editions.
 
why collect a vinyl not to play it? I really don't understand. I know Sheena views them as investment pieces for example. but if you're collecting to collect, why wouldn't you play it?
 
Because you're a collector of that artist, presumably. I'm sure most people who buy more than one vinyl format of any act only play one, if any at all.

I just collect my favourites albums. I can play them online.

I don’t know where you’ve got that idea from. I play all my records. I don’t understand not playing them at all. Keep them in good condition, yeah, but not play them?

(I do actually buy and sell second hand vinyl as a side hustle, but I’m entirely opposed personally to having things and not using them)
 
It really is irresponsible isn't it, and I'm sure at some point there will be more noise about it. I've seen some discussion about how it's about giving fans 'choice', but that's utter bollocks. Of course it allows choice, but it's not for one moment WHY Universal decided to do it.

I did have a pang of guilt as I was walking past the climate change march today about it :D
 
The whole multi format thing has got ridiculous and if a) the charts weren’t stupid already and b) it didn’t mean we actually got new music from the likes of Steps and Kylie when they otherwise might not sell enough to bother, I’d be a lot more annoyed than I already am.

I’m a bit sad at the lukewarm response I Can Be That Woman has had. I think it’s beautiful musically and once you move past the Tammy ambiguity, the lyrics paint such a vivid picture as Bjorn tends to do - even if he’s a bit sledgehammer about it on this occasion, Agnetha sells it in such a credible way.

God she sounds really great in this and even though her voice has matured she’s still a total master at heartbreak in song - who knows, maybe it’s the last Agnetha heartbreak ballad we’ll ever get to hear. :(

I just had my first play and it’s a beautiful thing hearing those voices together again. Of course they don’t get a free pass but I don’t think normal rules apply here. I’ll need a few more plays but this album had me rekindling all kinds of memories as a young child remembering aunts and my mum playing ABBA on Friday nights in. Overall it has made me quite sad about how quickly time passes.

I think it's been received better outside of moopy, hasn't it?

Personally I do love Agnetha's voice on it but I cannot get past the lyrics, and I just find it kind of plodding. However, Mr L has it as his 2nd favourite of the new tracks, behind Keep An Eye On Dan - which he insists reminds him of Secret Land by Sandra. I'll have to take his word for it, because I can't bear to listen to her.

Though considering they have so far butchered Voulez Vous by starting on the second verse and then moved straight to I Have A Dream, I’m not holding out much hope…

It's probably my favourite song on the album. It's LOVELY.

screaming at how many times she flubbed the lyrics :D she has a fantastic voice though and sounds freakishly at home on the verses in particular
