aimee mann - avalanche

This one still gets to me. The first time I heard it I was in a pretty bad situation life/career/relationship-wise in general and it just killed me. :(
It hits too close to home still as I feel I’m around that age where you have just about enough time for major change or stick with what you’re doing, happy as I am currently.

Life just kind of empties out
Less a deluge than a drought
Less a giant mushroom cloud
Than an unexploded shell
Inside a cell

The lyrics are something else in this one.

While perspective lines converge
Rows of cars and buses merge
All the sweet green trees of Atlanta burst
Like little bombs
Or little pom-poms
Shaken by a careless hand
That drives them off
And leaves again

Pure poetry.

"Wise Up" re-recording as a bonus track, please. (I hate when tracks are released only on vinyl.)
