any love for this? the third single from Not That Kind, entirely forgotten now I'd say but probably the best/most enduring song on the album for me. it's aged really well and sounds gorgeous on a sunny day. her voice really elevated a lot of material and in somebody else's hands this might've been just good.

I'm both surprised and relieved that she never went full yee-haw country, because she would have suited it to a tee, and it would have been awful

This is very listenable as a mere toe in that water

I wasn't surprised it (low-key) flopped; unashamed MOR off the back of two Heart FM Hen Party Hell anthems

This was good, remember being devastated when it only made like #28. (I'm sure it was around there, not looked it up)

But i preferred the fourth singal Made for Lovin You which could have been the second/third single. Got a tour video and full release, but criminally underrated, got a boost from Hayley Evetts singing it on Pop Idol, mind

Made For Lovin You was too much an obvious recycle of I'm Outta Love. Almost exactly the same backing track but without the "she-boss" lyrical appeal.

Having listened to Cowboys & Kisses again today, I don't think I ever appreciated how Anastacia leaves the chorus entirely to her poor backing singers, whilst she's exclusively wailing "YEAAAHHHHH", "NOOOOOOOOO" and "OHHHHHHAAAAOOOOOAAAHHH"

When one hates music, who cares to learn lyrics?

She was really on fire for the first three albums wasn't she, reaching a peak with the THIRD and building up to then. She was huge for that period. In the UK at least.

She then joined DEF JAM after the GH and it all started flopping.

yes but to be fair that imperial period lasted five years. didn't all 3 albums go triple platinum in the UK?

Yes were they all they all million sellers? I remember the second album didn't feel huge but built and built and hung around.

Nothing after that has even passed silver. Remarkable drop-off, but it was a remarkable run as well.

That said, her album of German cover songs from 2023 went Gold in Germany, so she's doing alright.

I say hey (Anastacia) - what's going on? Love this. She just needs the right material to have another solid album campaign that clicks her back in place. I still can't get over what she followed up the peak sprock era with that drab feel you tat. I'm sure this did its duties in selling the album - it's very pleasing in a way her hot tar gargling holler rarely let's you say that about.

I am enjoying her emphasising the URGENT message of the song with a video of her having a lovely sedate wander through a pretty garden
