:D I've been listening to their albums all afternoon and I'd forgotten how many classics they'd done. About time for a revival I think.

Anyway here's my top ten;

1. It must have been love
2. Dangerous
3. Spending my time
4. Fading like a flower
5. Crash! Boom! Bang!
6. Stars
7. Listen to your heart
8. The Look
9. Anyone
10. Perfect day

It's a bit weird, normally they should be EXACTLY what I love, swedish pop, nice melodies, acoustic arrangemnts.
But somehow I never got a fan, I love some songs, no doubt, but I have no albums or anything.

I like the ballads more than the uptempo-songs, they are a bit too mainstream..

I can't be arsed to make a Top 10 right now but

1. Fading like a flower
2. Listen to your heart
3. The look
4. Joy ride
5. It must have been love
6. Stars
7. Real sugar
8. Milk and toast an honey

meh a top 8 then

I love when you do that hocus pocus to me.. la la laa.... :D

Must download a few Roxette songs now...

A couple of days late, I finally listened. Here it is:

Marie's chorus is lovely. The whistles as they show Joyride footage is subtly special. I guess Per's verses are sweet and obviously sound like an adoring tribute to his bandmate, but I'd still rather he had given his poor throat a rest and let Marie have it all :)

Still appreciating, Peice of Cake has landed:

I'll listen more fully later (I'm currently Crowning), but listening to a snippet with one ear I was getting the strongest whiff of Sam Fox since her last gal pal.

If that had been the 2and single I reckon they could have had another promo run in the UK for it, which reminds me to search again for their Party In The Park set, which I have never ever seen.

Yes, Peice or Cake is a peice of coke off the baps n' flaps of Sam Fox for sure. I do hear traces of Hot Boy if only for a line or 2.

Announced back in October, I had no idea.

I'd much prefer this to be in chronological order, but oh well I'm still buying it, my love on vinyl.

I like their mournful ballads (‘It Must Have Been Love’ and ‘Spending My Time’) very much but that’s probably about it

This song wraps itself around my naked shoulders, it's the lost 80s movie soundtrack number 1 that never was. I don't mind Per here, but as always it's Marie who is so utterly ultra and at her expressive best.

And here it is, slightly worn, but dignified and not to old to turn itself into Purple Rain in a live setting:

Fade away :disco:

In the words of Sheryl: Oh Marie x

Queen Lena looking INCREDIBLE :disco:

I'd love them to bring this to the UK. I'm not sure how Roxette without Marie would fly here with ticket buyers unfamiliar with Madame Philipsson's own iconic career, but it seems like it's been doing well in the other non-Nordic places they've taken it.

They’re touring fairly extensively, but a lot of it appears to be festivals. I’m not sure there is a right fit for them in the UK at least on that level. I keep wondering if they’ll be at Drömmen, which would be enough to make me go, but they seem to be going with Ronan Keating as headliner and Roxette surely wouldn’t accept being further down the bill in Sweden.

That It Must Have Been Love is lovely. I looked at the full set list earlier and although I realise it would be unlikely, you think Per would have let her have a solo moment from her own career for a laugh, but sadly not.

  1. The Big L.
  2. Sleeping In My Car
  3. Dressed For Success
  4. What’s She Like?
  5. Crash! Boom! Bang!
  6. Fading Like A Flower
  7. Opportunity Nox
  8. Things Will Never Be The Same (Full Version)
  9. Vulnerable / Milk And Toast And Honey (Acoustic)
  10. Wish I Could Fly
  11. Stars
  12. She’s Got Nothing On (But The Radio)
  13. It Must Have Been Love
  14. How Do You Do!
  15. Dangerous
  16. Spending My Time
  17. Listen To Your Heart
  18. The Look
  19. Queen Of Rain

Oh my frigging God. I don't think Marie ever performed it in this arrangement (more is the pity). The song is just an avalanche of perfection and the full Lena PH fantasy is well and truly served :disco:

I was vaguely sceptical about this “new” Roxette at first, mainly because I prefer my queen solo and doing her own thing, but FUCK ME, from everything I’ve seen, she’s knocking this out of the park…

I always DREAMT I would meet Lena somewhere RANDOM and non-Swedish and she'd be so OVERJOYED that someone outside of the Scandis knows her OEUVRE so well that we'd become INSTANT PALS and I do fear this ROXETTIFICATION has now put paid to ANY SLIGHT CHANCE of that. :D :(
