Big Brother REVIVED on ITV2! (1 Viewer)

I am surprised Rylan doesn’t want to carry on doing the spin off or do you think ITV want a clean break from all the former presenters as I would have thought Emma would have been keen to present too.

I think Emma ruled herself out a while ago. Like you say I expect ITV wanted a fresh look and I am sure she knew it.

That seems potentially overkill for one eviction show/interview a week, so wondering if they are looking to change the format and have the presenters interact more with the housemates...

Will Best is a very 'I haven't heard that name in years' choice.

It’s a much shorter running time at 6 weeks, so at least two evictions a week I suppose, probably more!

The last time I saw him was on Celebrity Coach Trip last year maybe (and that was the first time in a long while), so this is a good gig for him.

Is it just a civilian series we are getting or both civilian and celebrity?

6 weeks I think is much better. People don’t have the stamina for 12 week shows these days unless it’s just one show a week like The Apprentice. When I used to watch it I always got so bored towards the end of the series because it got stale.

Marcus coming back feels a bit tired and uninspired? By the end of the previous run (not that I watched it religiously, I'm an INTELLECTUAL) he sounded more like someone doing an over the top Marcus Bentley impression.

If the live feed is back then I am SO SO IN. I could get obsessed with that all over again I'm sure! :D

I am actually a little worried about the future of the show, and it hasn’t even started. Love Island is tanking and I think is on its way out, and I’m just not sure who the core audience for BB is going to be. Sure it will have its dedicated fanbase, and it might get some interest from those curious to see what it’s like but I am just not convinced that it has legs.

It doesn’t seem to be getting much hype at all. Am I right in saying it doesn’t start again until October?

Love Island is tanking only by its own standards. It is still a massive hit for ITV2.

There'll be two hours of live feed on ITVX every night

Main show Sunday - Friday at 9pm for an hour, followed by whatever the spin-off will be called

From ITV:

It’s time to re-enter the Big Brother house, as the mother of all reality shows returns to British screens. It’s the show that launched them all, and a genuine cultural phenomenon.

Big Brother has found a brand new home on ITV2 and ITVX in Q4. We’re going back to the original formula with the addition of a few modern twists to make it the most talked about show this autumn and the perfect run up to Christmas.

Launching in October and hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, there’ll be 36 episodes in total, running six nights a week.

There will be 3 different ways to watch:

  • ITV2 and ITVX will broadcast the show Sunday to Friday from 21:00 till 22:00
  • It’s got a sibling show, running straight after the main show at 22:00 also presented by AJ and Will as they review the evening’s show with an excited live audience of Big Brother fans
  • And for the mega fan, ITVX will broadcast a live stream from the house - 2 hours a night, every night - so they can watch the contestants going about their everyday business.

Something's going to be announced in the breaks during the Love Island finale tonight

Start date presumably

I have a good feeling this is going to be BRILLIANT :disco:

This could be quite an egg on face moment if it ends up being a FLOP :D

I am a huge BB fan from the start - but CBB is where its at, yes please :disco:

Are our new hosts revealed yet? If not, I'm guessing it could be a good gig to further Alison H along.

Oh AJ, of course. Love her. And great as she was taken off the channel 5 one if memory serves.

Anyone else gearing up for these by watching the following?

Yes the Carole one is 48 minutes, I did this in the BATH the other day. Wouldn't recommend.

I hadn't seen the name dropping discussion before :D Charley really was something else :D

Series 8 certainly wasn’t a classic but definitely underrated, some brilliant housemates!
