Bobi (World’s Former Oldest Dog) DEAD (1 Viewer)

I’m trying to figure out how one pronounces Bobi

Bobi is DEAD. Long live the world's oldest dog.

That dog had already died and been replaced with a similar one so that the children didn't get upset at least twice.

...and I now have to explain to my colleagues why I just laughed out loud. :D

I find this story very odd. I mean I'm sure it is true...but Bobi was a Portuguese mastiff. So a large breed dog, weighing around 35-45kg.

So maybe a similar size to a Labrador or German Shepherd.

I've obviously known of many dogs over my years working at the vets and the oldest I knew of was a 20 year old chihuahua. Chihuahuas and small dogs always live longer than big dogs.

Most larger breed dogs live to around 12-14 years, 17 if you're lucky. And that's if you're lucky and they have zero health issues and gold star vet treatment and care.

I don't understand how this dog lived to 31.
