Can we get a list of who is a TERF and who is a trans ally? (1 Viewer)

I think Luke, the trans man who won one of the later series of U.K. Big Brother is also a TERF. :manson:

Just checked his twitter. Retweets of stuff supporting Farage, Trump, End Wokeness, anti-vaxxers etc etc just in the last week or so. Didn't scroll further to see any TERF stuff, but I imagine he'd want the full set.
 
I genuinely don't know much about TERF-y trans people, but what is their angle? I get the @Tetris-Rock point above, but on what platform do they stand? It's bizarre!
 
To generalise, I essentially agree with what the other TERFs say but apply the points to themselves - e.g. - “i’m a trans woman but I realise I am not *actually* a woman…”, “i’m a man so women have every right to not want me in their spaces.”

There is also of a lot of transmedicalism among some older trans people who essentially say you’re not trans until you go the whole hog with hormones and surgery despite these being inaccessible for many that want them, or undesirably invasive or unsuitable for others who decide they don’t want them.

Finally, and I think this is the most similar to self-hating homophobia, are the trans people who blame other trans people for “asking for too much”, “shoving it on people’s faces”, “taking things too far” or “making it silly” … these people commonly don’t believe people can be non-binary, for example.

Thank you. I guess that does make sense- in terms of explaining it, rather than me agreeing with it, that is!
 
Obviously many people just enjoy being contrary or love the attention, but I do have sympathy for some of the 'not like the other queers' types.

If you're living in very conservative circles, it's probably much easier to take "nothing against you mate, but the trans lot have gone too far" at face value than to question it and discover that your friends, family, or colleagues do, in fact, have something against you.
 
Far from a self hating homophobic gay but admittedly I do sit somewhere on the side of "it should just be something no one gives a fuck about and is natural". For sure I'll go to the local Pride and keep up with flags etc as at the moment we have to, it's just in an ideal world I'd love if it was something we didn't have to defend. Unfortunately a lot of bigots say the same kind of thing and "I don't care, it should be something no one makes a fuss about" but actually mean "it should be something YOU don't make a fuss about as I want gay people to be invisible again". I don't know how much of this confusion happens with trans though, it seems for the most part one is either decent or a raging TERF.

Where does Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) stand now? I seem to recall she was quick to leap to the defence of Queen TERF, but then appeared to backpedal a bit?

I think we can count Elon Musk as a TERF considering he banned the word "cis" on a certain social media platform he ruined.

Glad to see the list of allies so so much longer though!
 
If you type in trans into his Twitter account he has lots of pro-trans tweets.

I would bet there's some corruption from Rowling's direction

I do like a Waterstones for a browse, but I never buy from them anyway. If you're not going to do evil Amazon with their tax avoidance and discounts, choosing Waterstones instead feels like a cop out somehow. Support a nice indie instead. They thankfully seem to be flourishing in most towns and cities again.
 
Yeah I'd just go to Amazon honestly if not independent. "If you're going to be the bitch, at least be the whole bitch, not half a bitch" (in the interests of transparency I do ebooks but am the Whole Bitch quite a lot for general shopping. Actual shops never have stock of what I want)

Hold on, what has she said there that makes her a TERF?

Call her out for her stupid comment (which she has since explained and apologised for) but I strongly refute the argument that discussing the eligibility of trans athletes in sport categories makes you a TERF.

The issue is that cunts like Sharron Davies and Martina gang have turned it into a full on TERF war. As far as I’m aware, Radcliffe has never gone down that route at all.

He says that Linehan’s book was well written without necessarily agreeing with the content. MAYBE he also thinks that Mein Kampf was well written and never mind if any of the actual ideas were at all objectionable.

I was thinking that. And that it's hard to argue that he's not greatly principled, even if his principles clearly aren't great. It's still a reach and he could have said fucking nothing, though.

Considering she plonked out her statement a full 24 hours after it had all been debunked, she’s either a terf who doesn’t care, or a dimwit.
