I can confirm.

An Enya Forum will be implemented tomorrow.

Please suggest taglines

I note with disgust that it's now EIGHT YEARS since 'Dark Sky Island' How long does it take this slothful woman to slop herself out of her syphilitic coma, slump along in her clogs to the en-suite studio and produce another 40 minute album which uses all the same vocal samples as the last one, not to mention sounding utterly identical GENERALLY? One hopes that Roma isn't holding matters up with ongoing confusion about how to conjugate the subjunctive in LOXIAN

ENYA says: I’ve just received a telegram with news of my very own home in the internet’s most bubbly and lighthearted chat lounge. I’m very busy working on my new album which will feature many fresh melodies for fans so you can perhaps look forward to its release in five years. Please take care not to refer to my privates using the c-word as I prefer “quim” or “gee”. On which note the maids are here to “service the room” so I must dash. Enya xxx

:D:D:D I know one shouldn’t react to one’s own posts but that is a favourite. I especially enjoyed the absurd notion of Roma conjugating the Loxian :disco:

A telegram?

Madame has moved forward with the times. I always assumed she only accepted communications by interpreting rising moons or at best having parchment scrolls delivered by a suitably solemn stag.

Deep sigh..... Yes, Enya is an Irish Goddess...I say it in the most benevolent way. I LOVED "Watermark" when it came out and it gave me a sense of hope for the "Music Industry" back then...being a musician/recording engineer/producer since then, I am still in awe with all of the sheer effort and talent that goes into each of her albums and I just couldn't be happier that she has her own Irish castle / recording studio in one of the most beautiful countries in this planet.. so, after getting reacquainted with her output throughout he years, "Amarantine" is her HEARTBREAK album...many obvious signs, like, when has she EVER used RED in her album covers? and there are many others in here.. in the title song .."Love is Love is LOVE", "If I could be where you are" being a heartbreak song which can only be understood by those of us who have had our heart truly broken.....many of her gorgeous melody/harmony progressions here "It's in the rain".. and more signs of heartbreak; "Someone said goodbye", I mean it couldn't be any clearer, folks.. now , the question remains.. who in their RIGHT MIND would abandon such a beautiful, talented, enlightened soul?? oh, well , this world , unfortunately is full of misguided fools...but for those of us who appreciate her work , we say.. "Carry on, we are here for you"...we love you Enya!

And I have NOTHING TO ADD TO THAT

Now, you all know my feelings about ENYA, granted, but I'm not against FUN. (No, seriously...)

But in a post- VV Brown have we really built a forum just for people to take the piss out of her?

OK....

I really don't think it is comparable, considering there is a clear adoration for Enya underpinning the forum, AS WELL THERE SHOULD BE.

So, people who search for an Enya forum and find this one (in the pretty likely absence of much competition) are going to be realising there's a "clear adoration for Enya" with posts like "She has a religious moisturisation schedule, and applies La Mer cream nightly everywhere on her anatomy, including her perineum and vulva."?

Look, I couldn't give two SHITS personally- it doesn't offend me at all- and in isolated threads, absolutely no issue, but it feels a bit OFF CURRENT BRAND to just have a whole and visible forum devoted to (and therefore approved of by admin) that kind of stuff to me, that's all.

I wouldn't agree that a few low brow posts in a clearly nonsense thread is a whole forum devoted to that kind of stuff, approved by admin.

Sorry, you're right- I clearly paid no attention to all the RELEVANT, RECENT AND INTERESTING DISCUSSION about her music happening in there :D

Excuse me, there are DEEPLY SERIOUS conversations about her ICONIC ALBUM ART, Single rates, and dedicated album discussion threads. :enya:

Also, we have a Taylor Swift forum, and Enya is infinitely more respected on this chat longe than Tay-Tay.

By this logic, should we not be getting rid of all the artist forums? God knows there are rude posts about Madonna in her forum, for starters...

And you’ve clearly just ignored my entire point and where I said that rude posts are different entirely.

The overall theme of the Enya forum is just people taking the piss out of her…

I’d agree that we don’t want a thread dedicated to being spiteful towards anyone (we’re not Tattle), but the Enya speculation thread is just an extension of the discussion about the contents of her handbag. If anything we’re giving her some superb ideas for future song titles. ‘Perineum and vulva and rain’, coming June 2163.

May I suggest that ONLY COMMON SENSE AND NICE COMMENTS be the new tagline for the always very calm and collected Eurovision area :disco:

To be honest, on reflection, I agree with Sheena. In the sense that I don’t see how it could be a viable discussion forum in the long term. Perhaps it could be a “trial” forum monitored by the moderator team with the option of closure?

On this note I promise to behave and in all honesty I listened to a lot of Enya today. I do genuinely enjoy her music.

Just my personal opinion, but I don't think we need an Enya forum. But you never know, it might be a hit. Defo agree with what Sheena says though about making sure it's not just a p*ss take forum.

If you look at the Enya content, it's never mean spirited. It's very silly, but it's all done with LOVE.

If Enya herself stumbled across it, she'd likely be baffled rather than offended. I think it strikes a decent balance.

I think I kind of agree with this. But it is a fine line...

I know this is a RIDICULOUS comparison, but when we were angling for a Su Pollard forum back in the day at Dotmusic, we randomly set up a Yahoo Sites forum for a bit and her webmaster somehow got involved and said he couldn't support it as the whole thing just seemed to mock her and was unfair. (My memory IS cloudy as to exactly why, but... :D ). We had the same kind of angle as we do with this-we certainly weren't nasty about her.

I don't think Enya is likely to find the forum at all, it just feels OFF BRAND to me now, as I said. I certainly don't want to stifle HOT ENYA CHAT generally at all.

It's clear there is love for Enya but I think some of the humour makes it look as if it's all an ironic dump on her. It's not as if the majority of the discussion is about the intricacies of the arrangements on "...And Winter Came".
