Celebrity Race Across The World (1 Viewer)

You should watch anyway! It was still a great episode.

    1. Alex and Noel
    2. Harry and Emma (literally a couple of minutes behind, all four got to the last destination at the same time)
    3. Mel and Helene (who knows how much later :eyes:)
    [*]

Thanks, OK'll i'll watch, its just quite down on my list of catch ups!

I’m confused where Mel and Helenes bus came from though as he was pretty adamant there wasn’t one that day.

Do we think production paid for a tour bus to turn up and filled it with loads of extras and a fun for Europe tour guide?
Just caught up, and I feel this happened twice in the episode. At the beginning while they were still in Berlin, they suddenly just said "oh here's a bus to Tallinn" (!?) which we subsequently saw very little of. Just their little map rolling through all the countries causally rolling through five countries but not much footage of any of it?!

Then same again, a random town in Finland just HAPPENS to have a bus to Tromsø turn up out of nowhere?? It was all a bit CONVENIENT.

I totally agree, however I did look up the bus and it does exist with daily service (10.5hr trip) from that small finish town!

How cynical are we 🤭

The way Mel was like "let's just hang around on the off chance the bus turns up" did make me think that production gave them a tip off though :D

Overall it was enjoyable though there were too many pre-interview segments throughout the series and a bit of a lack of drama. Still enjoyable, but a little dull. I really wasn't gunning for the winners, I found everyone else more enjoyable, though they had their moments.

I have also been doing some research. The bus exists but it leaves earlier in the day than they can possibly have got there. You can get the sleeper train from Helsinki to Oulu and then another train to Rovaniemi in time to catch that bus the same day, if you know exactly where you are going and what you need to do ahead of time, but they worked in Oulu so can’t have done that. I suspect that they might have been more than 24 hours behind the other two teams and the producers made the other two wait around to meet them.

You aren't cynical the producers are in their ear pieces a lot of the way

I mean production will at the very least be either in constant contact with the camera crew or possible on the ground the contestants, thats a given.

Geri and Bluebell Madonna
Giles and Mary
Philip Schofield and his young runner
Kate and Gerry McCann

CELEBRITY RACE ACROSS THE WORLD SERIES TWO LINE-UP (as reported by The Sun) -

Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi
Bobby and Jeff Brazier
Scott Mills and his fiancé
Kola Bokinni (plays Isaac on Ted Lasso) and a friend or relative

A v good line-up, I think. And explains why Scott Mills mysteriously went missing from Radio 2 for five glorious weeks.

Not so sure about the line up but I loved the previous series in South America.

That series felt like they were being whisked off path every five minutes because of civil unrest. It must be a nightmare managing a series like this.

I don't know if I have the stomach for Scott Mills this evening

I enjoyed Kola being billed as "multi-award winning Ted Lasso series star"

The awards being for the series, but John Hannah SAID IT QUICKLY to make us think otherwise

Why couldn't the BBC have hired Mr Kelly Brook as their random Olympics French man over First Dates Fred?

The level of celebrity does feel marginally higher than last year (very marginally but still).

I've watched all of Ted Lasso and I had to look on Wikipedia to remind me who he was.

Scott's other half twittering on about custard creams.

It's less PILLOWY than in recent outings, but I'm still going to spend this series enjoying Scott Mills' plastic surgery

No idea what she's famous for but Kelly Brook used to babysit my friend so I'll root for her.

Screaming at Kelly's faffing about. Hair wash day was always going to set them back a bit :D

Since when were they allowed to bring their own SUSTENANCE? (custard creams here)

That's saving money that is

Kelly Brook's wikipedia Personal Life section consists entirely of THIS? You'd think she might try and pad it out a bit

In 2014, on an appearance on ITV's This Morning, she admitted to punching previous boyfriends Jason Statham and Danny Cipriani in the face, with Men's Domestic Abuse charity Menkind subsequently issuing a statement saying it was "extremely disappointed" by the segment. In July 2022, Brook married her longtime boyfriend Jeremy Parisi, whom she had dated since 2015.

"We stayed two nights in the same place" is an absolutely mad thing for someone who's just WON A LEG of Race Across The World to be able to say

I'm not saying Kola was lying to his cousin/sister when he told her he was too busy to see her, but other than Ted Lasso the only other post-2020 entries on his IMDB page are for a short film and 'man in pub'.

My stomach was strong enough for Scott tonight. He wasn't too bad at all.

Jeff Brazier has lost it a bit since that picture in Heat years ago of him putting his bins out in white pants. Nice legs, though.
