Legit saddened by this. Maggie and Vanessa Redgrave are the finest actresses British shores have ever produced imo.
She's deservedly acclaimed for both her Oscar-winning roles, but check her out in The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne if ever you get the chance. That's my fave perf of hers (accent aside) and reveals the full depths of her gifts as a remarkably sensitive, intuitive performer. I always felt it a shame that thereafter she seemed typecast as 'cranky but endearing old biddy' in most of her big-screen roles. She was far too talented an actress to be wasted like that.
