I didn't realise they had started making their 'big' announcements. Dame Patsy back for another reality payday.

Michelle Heaton, Darren Harriott, Carley Stenson and Mollie Gallagher also confirmed over the weekend.

Decent line up so far, missing an obvious comedy contestant.

I just assumed Joey had done it already. I'd prefer all ex athletes to be honest, more to perv on let's face it.

Not a terrible line up, quite astonishing it's still going really.

I assume male gymnast and maybe Corrie girl will be strong contenders.

The Viv is a great signing. In or out of drag though? You'd think in, but I imagine the tuck part might have something to say about that maybe. Though I suppose they can dance well enough. I would say in drag to stay on brand/character and probably paired paired with a male pro

Yeah, in drag surely?

This whole show embarrasses me and it truly is the ITV to the BBC's Strictly, but I'm deffs tempted by the idea of our Viv. I'm also delighted that Stephanie De La Dean has managed to get a high profile reality gig over a decade after she left Hollyoaks, when she's not had any sort of high profile role since? Though it probably helps that she's married to the should-have-won-Strictly Danny Mac. And also that the bookers must really struggle to find 12 people who are willing to be on Dancing On Ice in this day and age.

Stephanie De La Dean :disco:

I had to remind myself that she died in a fire, in my head she went off to join a cruise ship and never came back.

Love that they’ve bagged open homophobe John Fashanu!

Isn't she in the West-End?

Surprised there's only 11 contestants this year, they must have struggled.

Fuck this shit

(Until I'm at my mother's next week and she has it on)

I have watched it all tonight and must say I have enjoyed it. I’m not sure if I will be hooked, but it has certainly passed the time this evening.

On a scale of 0 to 10, how much does Michelle Heaton look like Shirley Ballas now?

Michelle was quite poor, but her confidence seems to be rock bottom so I am glad she wasn’t in the skate off first.

Would it be a totally different fan base that would watch this and Love Island? I thought this had quite a young fanbase?

I imagine the viewing figures in total won't be that different. But it is still primetime Sunday evening ITV1, which I suspect skews a fair bit older than Love Island does.

As it's ITV, demographic info will be available when it hits the TV chart.

I also think Ekin-Su, Joey Essex and possibly Nile were competing for the same demographic votes? Isn't there a limit on votes in the app (which I guess is what the young gen use).

The confused reaction from Ekin-Su was hilarious (and the quick cut to Davide too). Can't say I am that surprised that her routine was not a vote winner with the ITV1 viewers.

I thought Dame Patsy would be OK, against both Ekin-Su and Michelle.

The new professional landed on her feet getting Nile.

Finally caught up with this crap. Last year was the first one I missed, which seems a shame as I've just been youtubing some of it (of all the things one can do with their spare time..) and looks like it was a strong series. Shame ITV treat it like shit.

The panel is so beige. Oti seems rather lost. Jayne looks like she'd rather die. Ashley beyond nondescript. I imagine Chris to be an evil cunt but he at least seems into it. But christ it needs some bite. I also hate how we have two non skaters. One was enough. Wait, why am I watching again?

Anyway...pleased for Michelle. She was no worse than Patsy (who is a joy and looks stellar for 50) I thought, and god only knows what Ekin Su was up to but at least it was memorable. The skate off reaction :D I feel a bit bad for her, Love Island contestants always last longer, although the females less so (in fairness the Love Island boys have been stronger skaters).

But back to Michelle, I am of course mostly pleased we get more of hot piece Lukasz. That arse in those trousers, I mean imagine depriving us of that by sending him home early every year. I'd quite happily be chucked around on ice by that.

Nile was great. Olivia is amazing too, that'll be a formidable partnership. Pretty big landing her given she's Olympic level. You could see her quality outclassed everyone in that last pro dance. Of course, she'll be gone next year. All the past three winners have I think!

It really needs a female winner for once though so hoping Carly or Molly come through next week.

Fashnau first out and Stephanie de la Dean resplendent :disco:

Daniel Whiston STILL choreographing himself star turns in group numbers

The one time I didn’t watch someone fell on the ice. 😢

It was a shame she fell in the solo skate, but I was pleasantly surprised to see The Vivienne pull in more votes than Joey Essex. Joey always looks chaotic on the ice.
