This story is bizarre. He seemingly disappeared on a short walk whilst on holiday with his wife. I quite like the chap, I hope he's ok but it's not looking good. (It's been over 3 days since he was last seen) :(

For anyone who doesn't know him, he's the guy behind the resurgence of the 5:2 intermittent fasting diet in this country as well as being a TV doctor on BBC and CH4 medical based shows.

Yeah this is a proper sad thing.

Very odd he was seen 20 minutes after wandering off, but I doubt he's anything but dead.

Yeah, the poor sod has slipped/tripped and fallen. Sad way to go.

Am I the only one that thinks he possibly committed suicide?

Found at the bottom of a cliff. They'll ultimately never know what happened.

Sad way to go.

A policeman from the team that went to recover him either fell down or fainted and broke or twisted his ankle.
The place doesn't look that steep on photos but it's rocky and the heat is immense for the past few days.

I'm quite sad about that, watched quite a bit of his health stuff and he seemed a really solid guy :(

I had no idea who he was. The only time I came across him was in clickbaity headlines where he supposedly advised ONE FOOD YOU MUST AVOID, only for the article to say something quite different if you clicked on it.

Sad news. I only just bought his "Just one thing" book last week. It's going to feel weird reading it now.

This has affected me far more than I could ever have anticipated.

I think it's largely because this was the man who encouraged others to take charge of their health - in many ways he seemed at the forefront of lifestyle medicine. Even in his last moments, it is claimed judging by the position in which he was found, that he tried to stop himself from fainting (as a consequence of his heat exhaustion) by lying down and lifting his legs. The manner of his death was just so tragic given that he was so close to people who could have helped him.
