It must be noted that barely any new music was released last Friday. I worry there will be little music recorded and released ongoing.

I wondered about that a while ago, does this mean the stuff in the charts now could be in the top 40 for a year?
 
I want to buy her album on Friday but I know she’ll deluxe edition the life out of it so will probably hold off.

Also even if Physical isn’t bad it just makes me want to play Tegan & Sara’s Closer instead.

Everything is getting pushed back because HMV are shut and Amazon aren't delivering - the earliest Prime date for in-stock CDs yesterday was April 27th.

Release dates are set weeks in advance though. Last Friday was just the kind of regular lull that comes every 3 or weeks or so.

There probably WILL be a lull going forward with artists pushing releases back though (HAIM pushed their album from April to August, Sam Smith pushed by 2 months, Gaga seemingly in limbo) due to lack of promo opportunities etc. But on the flip side a lot of lower profile artists will be throwing out music as and when to tide their fans over (Caroline Polachek is doing a deluxe of Pang, Charli has promised something soon, Troye Sivan is threatening something, Tove just threw out a random cover for the fans on Friday etc.)

Hopefully Sam Smith is too devastated by everything to release anything again

God Physical is just the most magical pop song. The adrenaline rush does NOT let UP.

I may not be an EXPERT on topping (HA! SAY!) but i can't see anything this year topping it for me. It's that bitch x12455.
