SO Ellie has been working away on this almost since Brightest Blue came out and teasing a dance direction for most of that time.

an ATRL insider has shared the list of writers/producers she's working with...

Andrew Wells
Greg Kurstin
SG Lewis
Max Martin
Savan Kotecha
Ali Payami
Ilya Salmanzadeh
Joel Little
Oscar Holter
Oscar Gorres
Jack & Coke
Captain Cuts
Stargate

...so it seems like she's very much going all-in on that Delirium 2.0 big pop girl effort.

let's SEE! first single before end of year.

She's definitely hating every moment of making this album. Brightest Blue was great and what she actually wants to be making. But this could still be good

Quite surprised she can still get the kind of label cash that can get those kinds of big name producers. It's been about as long since Love Me Like You Do as it was between Loose and Big Hoops for Nelly Furtado.

she's got enough ca$h thanks to Hate Me and Close To Me. They might be awful but they have done BIG streaming numbers.

I'm already excited (as much as you can muster when it comes to Ellie Goulding though).

as an aside the Brightest Blue tour has begun and the setlist is très :disco: featuring a pair of classique deep cuts from noted seminal pop record Delirium!!!

01 Start
02 Power
03 How Deep is Too Deep
04 Powerful (Major Lazer)
05 Aftertaste :disco:
06 New Heights
07 Bleach
08 New Love
09 Flux
10 Only You
11 Worry About Me
12 I Need Your Love
13 Close to Me
14 Love I'm Given
15 Woman
16 Love Me Like You Do
17 Tides
18 Brightest Blue
19 Holding On For Life :disco:
20 Anything Could Happen
21 Lights
22 Burn

I'm jealous!

that's an awful setlist! Lights and Halcyon practically ERASED from existence :D and she's got the nerve to sneak in New Love on top of that. Biitch.

Everyone knows the Ellie-Calvin track to go for is Outside, at least she had some sense and bothered to include Powerful and Only You, both fabulous :disco:.

One of the worst voices in pop. I can't STAND it

Love Me Like You Do is the only thing that transcends its HORROR

I’m sort of with you, even if there are a handful of songs I like

But she’s definitely the voice that launched a thousand frail bird girl vocalists

I don't understand the question

So basically the Delirium album and a couple tracks off Halcyon Days.

I can see how her voice can be grating, and it took awhile for me to get past it. But when she gets it right, her music can elicit such JOY. Really takes me back to 2013-2016 (in a good way).

Burn and Anything Could Happen. The rest are a door slam on my taste levels.

Oh, and Love Me Like You Do, which was a surprise.

Oh what's the one from that shite movie about bondage

I QUITE LIKE THAT

My playlist history is telling me I quite like "Only You" and "Power"

FUCKED if I could hum then now, like...

Halcyon (Days) has to be her best album to date but I'm quite conflicted because she was bound to be dropped by the after three singles and then Burn came along and then Love Me...following suit; I understand she needed both songs at the time to keep herself afloat but it's time to move one and get rid of them!

I mean, we all know songs like My Blood and Dead In The Water were hardly single material but it's the kind of stuff she should continue doing and Brightest Blue was a welcome return to form. Now in a place where nobody gives a fuck about chart positions gimme them How Deep Is Too Deep kinda bops.

Just scribbled together a 'lil top 20 :disco:

I get the impression the last few years she's actively chased a hit with the idea of her albums still being a bit REAL MUSIC (see all the hits on Brightest Blue being relegated to bonus track status). I'd love her to continue down the Halcyon/Days route of writing some interesting stuff and scoring the occasional hit to keep everything afloat. I didn't enjoy Brightest Blue that much so keeping a beady eye on this next one as to whether I continue stanning.
