After my success in drinking Croatian brandy at the start of this year’s Eurovision, I’ve got myself a nice bottle of Estrella for kick off.
 
Spain ooze quality in the way they move the ball around. If England win it's likely to have to be through an error by Spain. And I'm not just saying that because it's England. Spain are on another level and have been throughout.
 
The first 10 minutes affirms to me that we probably shouldn't be in the final

England are defending really well. But that's pretty much all they've had the opportunity to do up until this point.
 
Some beautiful England play then. Hope they can keep that up! Agreed, it's the defence that are the stars so far, they're the ones getting up and getting involved. Foden and Shaw especially are having an excellent game. Getting more excited now :disco:
 
I do enjoy the ad I've seen a few times in the background inviting me to "fly VIA Doha", that they think so little of themselves they advertise themselves as a stopover only 🧐
 
It's not like England are just hanging on. They're solid, and that's a significant improvement over previous iterations of the team. But Spain are just impenetrable. Anything that gets past them will be a total fluke if they continue like this.
 
That could well have been it, just before half time. Closest either side have got to a goal, at any rate.
