Germany have been really good to be fair, but Scotland will need to be better than this to do anything.
 
It feels harsh to say because I never thought they would get anything out of that game, but Scotland were terrible and fortunate that Germany's substitutions neutered most of their attacking threat in the second half (Sane especially was shocking). 5-1 is bad but it could've been properly humiliating.

Musiala was unplayable and I can see him breaking out as a real mega-star if he continues this form throughout the tournament.
 
Weird opinion alert: I don't think Scotland were terrible.

They played a style of football unsuited to their skill and opponents - they were either going to win or get stuffed. A better plan would have been to be tight at the back and hope for a counter attack. However, the kind of football they are playing will work better against Switzerland and Hungary.

England are really quite boring to watch aren't they. they're letting Serbia in here
 
England are going to have to play a lot better than that to have a chance in this tournament.

I feel much less happy and much more RELIEVED that we managed to hold off a goal and squeeze 3 points out of that match. I don't see how we're going to win in the final against Germany if that's what we've got to offer.
 
It was quite a poor game for me really, maybe the worst of the tournament so far, between two teams that struggled to create much of anything.

I feel like I've watched that exact match so many times under Southgate and we were lucky that Serbia were fairly one-dimensional going forward. A better team would have punished how bad we were on the ball in the second half. At least we won!

My friend that I was watching it with pointed out that England went uber defensive tactically from the start of the second half in a way that you’d expect if the scoresheet was closer to 2-0 or 3-0. They are lucky none of Serbia’s chances came off. I can see why people call Southgate overly cautious.

Fucking BORING football to watch as well.
 
It's not that England are bad or they suddenly became a team that can't win anything.

The problem is as it has always been under Southgate. They're the best team until they're winning. It's such an attacking team that they just get confused when they need to try and soak up and become the attacking team again.

Austria-France was probably the most entertaining so far. Austria deserved an equaliser though.
 
yeah that Austria-France game was a cracker. Austria gave it everything. France looked stellar though. the American commentator compared their performance to England the previous night and I simply HAD TO LAUGH. they're leagues above. we'll be battered if we face them.
