We have all the songs from Semi One now, and it's definitely looking like the more interesting of the two with a real mix of languages and genres.

First Half

Finland: Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman - Look Away
Hungary: Joci Pápai - Az én apám
Montenegro: D Moll - Heaven

It's going to be so interesting to see what does and doesn't fly with voters from this semi. Portuguese queer performance art? Icelandic fetish metal? Polish women screaming aggressively about fire for three minutes?

There's definitely going to be some surprises, but before seeing any of the stage shows I'd say...

Hmmm... so far the only ones I would rule out are Georgia, San Marino and Montenegro. The others all have a chance of varying degrees.

Yeah that would be next on my list.

No one seems to give Belarus any hope at all, but I'm not so sure. Her NF performance wasn't the best, but I think it has potential!
 
I'd only categorically rule out two (super obvious) songs at this stage so this is liable to be very, very wrong;

Looking at the songs in the second half I’m not that surprised San Marino is last. I wish Slovenia was a little bit later.

I mean it's not bad, but who's going to remember a thing about Greece the moment Queen Serhat steps out on stage? :disco:
 
They’re certainly NOT winning this semi. Hopefully the staging will be awful and it’ll get an amusingly mediocre placing to serve them right for not sending something in Greek
 
Yeah I think Greece have a fairly good shout.

I wouldn't discount Belgium either.
 
I’m surprised they put Belgium so early on in the running order.
 
I don't think Belgium is strong enough to win the semi. The verses are great and then that chorus comes along, and it's a bit - 'is that it?'

I'm still working out my qualifiers but at the moment I am thinking:

Will be v annoyed if dreck like Estonia or Belgium make it over Portugal.
 
Hasn't Georgia looked quite striking in rehearsals? I'm not saying it'll qualify (although currently I predict it might) but it's VERY dramatic even if I'm not sure what the drama is all about.

It's a weird semi where the stage shows are surely going to help dictate what goes through.
