I guess someone willing to go a racist riot, have no concept they could ever get into trouble for it, either because of safety in crowds or a feeling that they're on the right side of history.

For others they don't care. This is no doubt not their first rodeo.

Lovely. That Bristol one is part of a hub which also includes a Sofa Project, Changing Futures, SouthWest Law and the Reuse Network, as well as other not for profits I'm probably forgetting. All organisations who do amazing work with the most marginalised and vulnerable groups in the city.

Well, they've already torched a library in Liverpool. I'm sure there will be more things that are just too woke for them.

Grim thought but I'm at least glad it's the Nazi side doing this so they can SHUT THE FUCK UP with all the "so much for the tolerant left, we just want a civil conversation about immigration" whenever things even slightly kick off on our side. Showing their true colours so the "benefit of the doubt" crowd can open their eyes.
 
I've just been speaking with one of my workmates who is Muslim, and works at the health centre a few hundred metres from that immigration lawyers they are supposedly targeting tomorrow. She's pretty terrified that they will march on the health centre, and as it's in an area with a large Somali population, I don't think her fears are unfounded that it could be a likely target for a marauding mob of gammon, or that she could get caught up in it on her way home across the city.

Work will be fine and I know that arrangements will be made so she won't be put at risk, but what it makes me fucking seethe that she's made to feel like this.

Acting on the 'false and malicious' information that he was a Muslim immigrant? How the fuck does that justify setting fire to hotels even if he was?
 
These so-called protestors are targeting ALL ethnic minorities (because supposedly we all look the same anyway) and I'm surprised that the media is reporting that they are making any sort of differentiation.

I had the same conversation with my colleague today who wears a hijab. She said she's scared to walk the streets at the moment. Made me feel so awfully sad that in 2024 this is going on.
 
I am so, so wound up tonight by local pundits and figures who make it their goal to go around drumming up attention and stirring up hate. It's been horrible dealing with it in work for the past month, but their reactions to all of this has really just cemented things.

I semi understand the people who are misinformed and driven by fear - not the rioters and the looters, but the people out protesting, because they've been manipulated. But try as I may to be empathetic, I can't understand the sadistic and egotistical need to stoke fears and tensions and to make minorities fear for their personal safety.

I know I'm speaking to the converted, but it's making me so angry and as much as I wish it wasn't there, I also can't wait until (and pray that) so many years down the line their children are looking at them with shame and embarrassment and they are just utterly miserable.
 
Riots planned for Southampton tomorrow apparently, with the local gay club The Edge, closing tomorrow night due to safety fears!

Southampton is about as close to the island as the riots have come so far.
 
After all the reports of the arrests, charges and people being held on remand, we’ll just have to see HOW thick the thickos remain to be tomorrow.
