2021 has been the year that pop-rock and emo-y guitar-pop finally broke fully into the mainstream/top 40 radio again with Olivia's Good 4 U becoming arguably the biggest song of the year.

but what are YOUR CHOICE FAVES from the pop-rock revival?

I actually never knew I was nostalgic for this sound until these songs came along.

you should check out the song exploder episode about it. Halsey talks about how it was made, Gwen Stefani being an influence on the vocal, plays different stems etc. it's really cool. actually gave me a new love for the song which is up there with her best now...
