A tentative YAY from me - I haven’t enjoyed her more experimental stuff, but she has served some absolute gems over the years… her ability to produce sultry gems is almost unmatched

OK, this is pretty great. The "grey office bursts into song and dance" is shopworn but she gets away with it partly through sheer verve and partly by having a chunk of the office unaffected.

Reminds me of how Ant and Dec were actually releasing music as PJ & Duncan AKA. Many people are surprised by the AKA.

Still not over pronouncing Eusexua like this queen would.

god I love Perfect Stranger a lot. the beat is so... :disco: she's 2/2. I've never explored her much before these singles so I guess I should dive in

you're beautiful, you're worth it
you're the best and you deserve it,
I love the danger, you're the perfect stranger

:disco:

killer hooks everywhere

I think Perfect Stranger is my favourite song right now. pairs beautifully with Aquamarine.

album out friday... in the meantime this somewhat insane 45 min chat/philosophical back and forth between twigs and IMOGEN HEAP is pretty essential viewing.

obsessed with the part where Twigs teaches Imogen the slapping dance, and the bit where they go to another part of the warehouse and Imogen puts her magic gloves on and starts creating/manipulating sounds in Ableton and Twigs cannot help but QUEEN OUT. really enjoyably weird stuff.

also the part where Imogen basically says she's not heard much of Twigs' music except this album that she listened to once the night before. and then says popstars don't actually listen to music really. :disco:

Girl Feels Good is like an homage to Swim/Candy Perfume Girl... extremely Orbit/Madonna coded to these ears. the first song I've heard this year and immediately thought this will be a highlight of the year in music. diving into the rest now... :disco:

It FEELS N-I-I-I-I-I-CE :disco:

I drifted a little towards the end but first listen very positive.

It's all very Ray of Light. (Complimentary of course.)

4 stars from ME (it loses a point for Kanye's demonspawn prattling on about Jesus in Japanese).

Is this person’s recording career some sort of tax write off?

I'm obsessed with the production on this one (if I'm allowed to say, that given that she's never had a hit)

makes me want to prance around a deserted temple on tiptoes. there's almost a HINT of ENYA in there... until the beat drops.
