Germany 2024: Isaak - Always on the Run (1 Viewer)

The four faves (as in tipped to win, not necessarily fave as in requested by the public) are all on next, one after the other. :eyes:

This "Tears Like Rain" song seems like the standard pop ballad sung by a competent female vocalist and a little more-than-mininum effort in staging Germany has gone for in the past. :eyes:

That was the favourite? It got dramatic in the end but his voice was a bit weedy.

That kind of had some potential but is still a “3 points from the televote” kind of entry

I'm not sure I'm sold on the light show staging and the vocals were a bit missing but something that I could accept on the Eurovision stage.

Marie getting an extended interview from her mother (Michelle from ESC 2001) :D I guess NDR want her

I feel like this could've actually been a half decent song with a softer voice singing it and less dramatics. Max is the flaw here in my opinion.

Did Floryan get 1 from every country?! :D don’t like this keeping the lines open after half the results are decided, it just encourages people to vote for what’s 2nd

:D at them throwing away a potential top ten in Ryk. Enjoy 26th place Deutschland :germany:

I don't mind this actually... definitely better than Rockstars or Sister.

I genuinely think everyone has been backing the wrong horse with Ryk this whole time. Isaak feels much more like the kind of thing that will end up coming top five with the juries. Granted, it’ll get about 4 points from the televote, but if that gets them a lower left-hand side placing I doubt the Germans will be sniffy about that.

I hate it and I hated Ryk too so I have no vested interest other than in being right.

I didn't really care enough about ANY of the songs to back any horse here, but Isaak did give the best vocal performance, although I don't really see the juries going for it nor the televoters. Of all the Big 5, I think they clearly will do the worst. Again.

I mean, its uninspiring as hell, but surely those vocals are too strong for the juries to completely ignore?? Maybe Germany will squeak onto the left hand side this year

It's boring, but the vocals are good and it reminds me of that Rag'n'Bone Man dross, which clearly has an audience, so maybe it won't do too badly in the televote.

Tbh, as much as I love Zorra, I really think it's going to tank. It's just too gay for the straights.

I don't mind it, catchy enough and sounds quite chart friendly so maybe it will surprise. Agree with the Rag'n'Bone Man comparison, and it also gives me Lewis Capaldi vibes.

My only thought while watching this yesterday was that it could be one of the performances JK Rowling usually praises in her Eurovision tweets :bruised:
