Loved her in Mary Poppins but don't know much else about her.

Sister Suffragette is an absolute banger, and she was a joy as Mrs Banks. Probably my favourite moment and character from an 11/10 movie.

Sondheim also wrote Send in the Clowns for her, so you know she was good.

I believe the exact quote was "I wrote it for her voice, because she couldn't sustain notes." :bruised: Theatre gays can be so CRUEL.

It is an extraordinarily well acted vocal performance though, isn't it? I've seen quite a few productions of A Little Night Music and heard a lot more, and I do think it's the actors who aren't the best singers who have most success with it.

Yeah, it's why Dame Judi bosses it too. Can't belt but she can ACT

Gotta get yr deathlists in early, folks! (I didn't have her)

First time I saw her perform in a musical, and an Olivier award winning turn, let's not forget :disco:

I do think Issy van Randwyck's performance of HOT MUSICAL SLUT ANTHEM 'The Miller's Son' from that production is exemplary, too.

There are mouths to be kissed
Before mouths to be fed
And there's many a tryst
And there's many a bed
To be sampled and seen in the meanwhile
And a girl has to celebrate what passes by
