God of War: Ragnarok (1 Viewer)

Fenris :disco:

I am (sporadically) replaying the last one. the script is superb. but somehow my fingers are less nimble now so I keep fucking my combos up :(

I don't remember, did Baldr die in the last game? in mythology it is his death that heralds ragnarok

I believe he dies at the end, hence Freya is mighty pissed.

It looks great, they were talking about more variety in monsters and bosses (which was lacking in the first one). I am excited (to play it eventually once I finish HZD:FW which is huge).

great as it is, Horizon is huge, yes. I gave up on checking in on NPCs in the base and their new dialogue two thirds through, I just couldn't get my head around more. I also got a lot of side missions left but I'll pick up on those once there's an expansion

Yeah I’ve reached the point of skipping all non main story dialogue. It’s over stuffed.

yeah, I read a raving review where the only gripe was that the game isn't groundbreaking. I despise this notion in modern gaming culture that every release has to be genre defining, otherwise it can't be a perfect game

Like is BOTW 2 going to be mediocre because it doesn’t redefine open world games again?

got it Wednesday (midnight release at the local games dealer :disco:) but not able to play till Sunday because life :(

I bought it yesterday, put my PS4 on yesterday to see if it would turn on and do it’s update thing. Turns out I’ve not had it in since 03/21 :D

Will start it tonight I think

Turns out I’ve took this rather well, my fingers just bashing the buttons in all the right places which I’m quite pleased about.

I’m not too far into it, having made it to dwarf realm but already fought some pretty amazing mini bosses.

The one thing that I’m finding grating is all the invisible walls, I quite enjoy it being semi-linear but the amount of “you can’t go through that 2ft gate despite being a God of War” is a bit LOL. There must be a better way?

Oh and i think I’ve been watching too much Family Dick 😈

The pit mines are HUUUUUGE. A bit overwhelming actually so turned it off for today

made it to the Huntress and decided to call it a day

I am a bit out of shape and will admit that the fight with Thor made my heart pound a little

also I keep fucking up using ⭕ to dodge :(

It annoys me the button presses aren’t colour coded! The circle just looks like a marker rather than I should be doing something.

I lowkey love the humour in the game

it's a gorgeous game but oh so big, side quest within side quest etc

The boss fight with the grandmother was epic! For the first time in a game I felt like a very tiny person in a much bigger world.

Got me thinking that Kratos etc. are really just the borrowers :D

no idea how far I am in this game (had a two week break). must be hell for completionists. I've loved all the mini bosses and puzzles and extra treasures of the two elven deserts and the frozen lake

about to find someone named The Lady...

also Brok and Sindri <3

Platinum trophy completed yesterday. Gnar was a bitch to kill so I cheated and looked up a strategy :disco:

What a fun game, I love getting to a new area and slowly knocking off the side quests and collectibles.

I’m guessing we’re getting an Atreus spin off or DLC to wrap up the Sindri storyline before Kratos migrates to another pantheon and shit on it.

I really hate to say it but this is full of some tedious bullshit :D

Having to hack away at some rocks so Brok can fix the lift to go under water. What was even the point? The rocks were about 2m away and it didn’t expand on anything at all!

I am finding the same thing. Just give us a cutscene, rather than boring gameplay whilst story plays out. At least I can go for a piss during a cutscene

I was a bit underwhelmed with the whole thing to be honest, whcih was a disappointing after really enjoying the first.

Squeezing through gaps got SO tedious, all the stats overload seemed to make bugger all difference, Freya was a total bore, and the incessant wittering on by everyone all the time got irritating.

I was glad when it was over.

I'm enjoying it a lot. I like the puzzles and being a collector, but there are definitely some tedious bits to it. Travelling between the worlds takes too long and yes agree on the squeezing in gaps, ledges, climbing etc. needs to be speedier.

Some of the fights are nigh on impossible too. I'm simply not bothering with the Bezerker graves side-challenge, they're killing me in what feels like two or three swipes.

Glad I'm not the only one who CBA switching around all the weapons and armour and doesn't bother reading stats for anything. Not God of War specific but if there's too much writing on a screen I instantly switch off from it.

I work the stats so much as what will put my strength and defence up the highest but that’s it. I’m still not sure what a runic summon is, how luck works, and what status does.

I’ve got the mask completed and Kratos wants to go home. Am I near the end?

Apparently so (after completing a few boss fights that weren’t enjoyable the first time again 🙄), I’m on the way to kill Odin
