Growth of the far right (1 Viewer)

Who does a publicity stunt on an Olympic weekend? What an oaf.

GB News reporting that brave Tommy Robinson has run away

And everybody who donated to his “legal fund” has paid for his 80th holiday this year.

I was just minding my own business walking into Kingston for dinner and some drunk guy shouted WHY IS TOMMY ROBINSON IN JAIL at me and a group of people

I would have replied with “because he’s a fucking racist idiot” but he looked like he was ready to throw down so I just did the London thing and completely ignored him

But they’re all getting far too bold for my liking.

The actual answer is that he isn’t in jail. Because he ran away. Like a coward.

He isnt in Jail, hes fucked off like an asylum seeker!

As if any of his supporters care about minute details like the ACTUAL FACTS

I forgot what a wild racist west hellhole Facebook is. I had a quick look at the second “correction” post and in the comments they’ve just shifted to racially abusing NHS staff. It really is about non-white faces!

Liverpool hates this kind of thing generally. There’s dickheads everywhere but Liverpool has always a strong “support the little guy” attitude and can get fiercely defensive about stuff like this.

A big protest and counter protest planned for tomorrow here in Belfast.

The Islamic Centre have asked people to stay at City Hall and not hone in on their building, but both sides have specifically stated their intentions to go there. And I get the idea from the counter-protesters to go there to show solidarity in the face of any harassment or attacks or destruction, but I'm also conscious of respecting the desires of the community itself.

I appreciate you're coming from a good place, and I am not coming for you and I also see the use of inverted commas. However, I don't think that any minority would appreciate being referred to as the "little guy".

Is it worth separating this into a new thread?

Looks like the far right have narrowly been held off in Brandenburg, though still with a big gain in vote share.

Austria has always had a strong right wing. I lived there 25 years ago and it was really prevalent then. It’s astonishing when you consider what their most famous “son” got up to in Germany.

Oh wow, with all the votes counted, the centre-left governing party were locked out of the top two altogether, so it's going to be a straight fight between a liberal and an extreme far right candidate. What could possibly go wrong? :bruised:

My main hope for Romania is that it's far from a done deal as he only won 22.9% of the vote in the first round - I really hope the second round sees the majority rally against him. Still, I feel like hope is an archaic thing after the past few weeks (USA, Georgia, Bulgaria...)

Romania's top court has annulled the results of the first round of their Presidential Election (after proof of breaking electoral law) with the second round meant to have been happening on Sunday. This will be interesting :o

He'll just form the UK Close The Borders party and the whole stupid grift will start over again...

Won’t he just join the Conservatives, which is what he has been after for years anyway, and probably end up as PM?

I think he was hoping they would lurch further right before making that jump.

I feel like one of the Conservatives and Reform will collapse entirely within the decade. The Tories have a stronger foundation obviously, but if Reform manage to hold together and potentially pass them in the next election, I don't see where the Tories can possibly go from there?

They've seemingly veered too far to the right to easily go back to anything resembling centrism, and Kemi clearly ain't turning that ship around. They have negligible appeal to people under 50, and pretty much anyone easily swayed by right wing rhetoric is surely more likely to drift into Reform's orbit?

The Tories must be praying that the Reform lot collapse under the weight of their own ineptitude, which is probably the biggest hurdle they face.
