Any new disease that comes around is going to hit hard in the beginning then fall off eventually.

When Covid first came, we had people dying left and right at work. I think in total we had around a few hundred when it first hit. We were having to bring in ventilators from out of state just to keep up.

Now that it ran its course through the initial wave, it’s basically a cold for 99% of people we get.

It was probably grauniad scare mongering but I last read something about researchers messing with "mirror genes" and scientists going "no stop that will kill us all"

Personally I ended up leaning towards the lab leak theory for COVID so tend to think the next time that kind of thing happens our reaction would be a bit more severe...
