This is all very sad but also very interesting.
It's been going on for days and it looks like it's getting bigger, probably the biggest public reaction the theocracy has had in recent years.

 
Seems the protesting is intensifying in the Iranian Kurdistan area



Hard to say if this is going to come to something considering previous uprisings were quashed but the bravery of these students and protesters should be commended.
 
The footage that was coming through last night was quite the mixture. It was inspiring not just to see women protesting but to see men holding back the police while women protested - now *that's* allyship, putting yourself between the protest and the cops - but there was also emerging reports of horrendous violence and some very worrying footage.
 
Christiane Amanpour who was asked by the Iranian leadership to wear a headscarf today, says she doesn't see any change for the better coming out of this

 
I'm following this pretty closely. Iran is such a big player in the region with considerable influence on what happens in Iraq and Lebanon, for example. Unfortunately, with a total blackout imposed by a totalitarian regime, the sources of information are mostly not local.
