Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure? (1 Viewer)

2 days! :disco:

here's the Honey Dijon remix (!) of Ooh La La to tide you over to Friday

"Soul Control" has been released on New Zealand iTunes. Cute track! Kinda like a Pointer Sisters-ish/80s Janet pastiche.

Soul Control is a total delight. Remember Where You Are will probably bloom into a major favourite - definitely less whimsical than a lot of what we've heard. The chorus (as in choir) singing the chorus is *chef's kiss* - can't wait to play this record at full volume this weekend.

What a glorious album. So perfect for this BALMY day.

The album version of Spotlight is even MORE glorious, and the title track...sublime!

oh my GOD! GAYS! The title track is fucking insanely good!

I could cry!

GOD In Your Eyes is an absolute dream! Total bliss :o

Full loon review tomorrow but damn if this album isn't utterly next level for her. I'm really shocked.

"I follow you through the night like a dog with the scent of your cologne." :disco:

I’m holding off listening to this until the morning

but god bless Jessie Ware

saving 2020 :disco:

Why is this thread not on page 35 already?

I think I’m in love. So many highlights but fuck me The Kill is the best thing I think I’ve heard all year.

I listened earlier but am a bit hungover so will hold back from commenting until a second listen.

We could have a listen party this evening :disco:

every song is getting a visual / video of some kind - here's the one for What's Your Pleasure?

he's gorgeous

On first listen this album is the ultimate soundtrack to a cocaine-fuelled mid-30’s dinner party (ideally in the 1970s), and I mean that in the best possible way :disco:
One in which all parties have every intention of leaving after dinner for the late performance of The Rocky Horror Show, but none ever make it out of the house, Jessie having set the city and their nostrils on fire. :disco:

I’m only 3 songs in but I’m loving this

Having got the DULL-AS Glasshouse out her system (I’m sorry but it was fucking DULL), I’m assuming Jessie came to her senses, hired a nanny to look after the KIDS, then got her dealer on speed-dial resulting in this album :D

It’s so 70s Donna Summer in places. It could literally soundtrack the iconic Laura Dern disco-themed kids party scene from Big Little Lies season 2 :disco: :disco:

It really is the album of Donna Summers career

Not sure I'm buying the Donna Summer comparisons SO much, but it's a fucking CORKER by any measure. And perfect for this heat.

Fuck me, I just heard The Kill for the first time :disco: INSTANT CAREER BEST!

Not sold on Remember Where You Are though*, it's a bit sugary. Would have preferred an extended disco-strings version of The Kill TBH

The Donna Summer comparison flits between ABSOLUTELY and NOT REALLY depending on the track for me.

*this may/probably will change.

It’s more Diana Ross than Donna Summer to my ears.

CORKING either way though.

I'm feeling terribly melancholy today and this album is majorly hitting the spot for me. It's for every occasion apparently.

I feel like I'm on a comedown after this

What a ride :disco:

It worked AMAZINGLY well in the languid heat yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to see how it works in the warm drizzle and soundtracking a one way waltz around Tesco of a Saturday afternoon.

Going by Spotify, half the album got fewer than 1000 streams yesterday. :o May be a glitch/delay, as the previously-released songs have decent numbers and I wouldn't expect a new album to do that poorly...

Before Ag shouts at me again, I'm not in the trolling mood I was in yesterday. Just making a perfectly innocent observation

This will just be waiting for the first day figures to update, everything starts on <1000 for the first 24 hours (but that 24 hours can sometimes stretch to 48 :D )
