Kate Bush: Remastered (1 Viewer)

I really want it all, but the Vinyl would be purely decorative and my flat isn't really big enough to have ten of them hanging up - in addition to my Before The Dawn Tour poster - without it looking like a bizarre shrine. :D

Most likely I'll just spring for the CD boxes and maybe either The Dreaming or The Sensual World on Vinyl. I also love the Never For Ever cover but I'm not sure I want cartoon Kate with bats flying out of her foof hanging over my bed.

I think patience may be a virtue here. The Xmas box set market is absolutely flooded this year and I suspect that it'll be possible to pick up the individual CDs at nice prices once we get the start of January. But if I find myself flush, I'll have CD box 1, despite the box artwork being fugly.

There is A CREDIBLE RUMOUR that Rolf Harris's parts on Aerial have been removed and Bertie has replaced him. Apparently there is quite a bit of change to The Painter's Link which is the track he featured on. So, for that track at least, it's more of a remix than a remaster.

Oh for GOODNESS SAKE. Am I going to have to visit the REPROGRAMMING CLINIC to have my memories of ROLF'S CARTOON TIME erased from my BRAIN?

His didgeridoo part is still on The Dreaming. This may be down to availability of multitracks, it may also be down to the fact that it's just a fucking didgeridoo so who gives a shit.

I can't say The Painter's Link is a pivotal moment on Aerial for me so not bovvered if she's changing it. I'm quite interested to hear whether there's actually any difference in sound with the remastered Aerial though, given that it's not that old by Kate's standards.

The remasters are absolutely MAGICAL. Everything is brought to life and I'm in love with the songs all over again.

I think Kate's work really lends itself to this process because there's often so much going on that you don't catch, but now those elements are clear in the mix and just sound wonderful.

Well Part 1 box (CD) has arrived and to say that I'm disappointed is an understatement in terms of packaging etc.

The music itself, of course, is not only majestic but MAGISTERIAL .

What did you go for? I've thus far only invested in part 1 (CD). I might ask Santa for part 2 but I'm just not that fussed.. I might actually get part 1 on vinyl.

Do the vinyls come with mp3 downloads?

Maybe

Maybe yours is a rare misprint type thing? Loon up loon up

I nicked that picture, it's not actually mine! But I understand they all have that typo. :wired:

I got CD box 1 and The Red Shoes vinyl. I'm getting vinyl boxes 1 and 3 for Xmas (thanks @Tischlampe and his parents). And CD box 2 is on order - I ummed and urred a lot about whether to get it but decided it was better just to spend the money than to vacillate over it for months :D

I know what you mean about the packaging of the CD box but to be honest it'll just sit on my shelf forever and I'll listen to the music on my phone. I DO wish she would give the fish people thingta rest though. I mean, wtf.

No MP3 downloads with the vinyls I'm afraid. She wants ALL your money

I HATE that FishPeople artwork thing. UGH!

I hate that artwork too, which is why I'm not jumping straight in. Also, I fully expect the single CDs to be available around the £7/8 mark come January so I'm holding on unless someone does a decent Black Friday deal.

Is the only advantage of the box set the packaging?

I’m waiting for an offer- please shout if you spot anything!

Basically yes, some ink and cardboard. At the moment it's 7 CDs for the price of 6 but I'm kinda banking on the single CDs coming down. Will definitely holler if I see anything juicy in the meantime.

Pretty much and the packaging is shit. I just didn't want to wait because I've wanted those earlier albums remastered for so long. I'd wait if you're not a 'loon' so to speak...

I’ve been given holy instructions to cut down on the shouty capitals but these remasters really do sound ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AMAZING

I was possibly never listening properly before but oh! the mandolin on ‘Wow’! And ‘The Dreaming’ remaster is nothing less than sensational and everything I was hoping for

We let the WEIRDNESS IN :disco::disco::disco:

Is it only me who likes ‘Lionheart’? It doesn’t seem to be very popular but it’s my third favourite after the Immaculate Two. ‘Coffee Homeground’ is of course a lifelong stand out even though or perhaps because it’s absolutely ridiculous rubbish

You won’t get me with your Belladonna
IN THE COFFEE :disco:

Why oh why did the final version of ‘Leave It Open’ not include the fantastic “They said they were buried here” bit at the beginning? Perhaps Kate had one too many of her tasty little cakes and forgot about it :tongueout:

With my ego in my gut my BABBLING MOUTH would wash it up

Goodness these remasters really have caused quite the renaissance :disco:

Oh god I want every single piece of it but I can't justify ANY of it right now :(

But then there's no way I'm not getting this so justification is sort of irrelevant...

Ive resigned to the fact that I’m just getting it for the sound quality. If she wasn’t so greedy and had given mp3s with the vinyls I would have just bought the vinyl box 1. Oh well.

Oh pfffft at “so greedy”! I’d say she’s the very picture of restraint compared to grabby old króna-eyed purse queen Björk - and let’s face it, these remasters ARE worth the money - although obviously I’m ALWAYS playing Vulnicura Live, Vulnicura Strings and of course Vulnicura Nude :disco:

I think my heart will always lie with "The Provisional Vulnicura", "I Can't Believe It's Not Vulnicura" and, of course, "Vulnicura 2: Electric Boogaloo".

I just died!

I can't rave enough about these remaster jobs. Hearing the B-sides and rarities polished up for the first time in particular is like getting a whole new set of music from her.

The new mix of December Will Be Magic Again is fucking glorious.

I went to the Kate Bush charity pop-up shop in King's Cross last week (did anyone else go?) and spent a small fortune, including buying a raffle ticket - and I have just been told I've won a copy of her How To Be Invisible lyric book which Kate will sign and inscribe with my name!

Very rare to get anything signed and inscribed by her these days so I'm pretty excited!
