New single/beginning of a new project, out tomorrow. There's a small clip, it sounds very disco.

This feels like her moment to really enter the big leagues, I hope the song doesn't let her down! The imagery is ON POINT, and she just has talent, presence and star quality in spades.

I honestly don't think a re-push of Heart To Break (a la Lizzo) would be the worst thing she could do either :D It feels like it's been lingering on the outskirts of being a crossover smash for the past THREE YEARS, and the public would eat it up following Say So.

It's leaked and despite a slightly weird structure and middle section it's a pretty huge bop. Very bubblegum disco.

It’s great! Glad it gave a bit more than the snippet released in March let on; the middle eight and outro really elevate it.

although I’m a little bittersweet at the whole thing at the moment - this was meant to be my care free summer anthem whilst stalking her around Europe on her supporting tour in a few weeks :(

I sorta think she’ll always stay in the niche gay market and never truly breakout mainstream but I’m cool with that. She’s built up a loyal fan base and the bangers are churned out at an astronomical rate. Really couldn’t ask for more :disco:

I mean it's FABULOUS :disco: it sounds like a modern day Jackson 5 song!

My only thing is, there are points where her vocals have clearly been pitched up so much it really sounds quite chipmunk-esque :D

Also - when she says "your kisses taste like Malibu" does she mean the SICKLY SWEET cheap rum drink?! :gross:

Considering she also references Curaçao I'd say she IS talking about the drink, no?

“Speaking about the meaning behind it, she said: “I grew up in Germany and I always thought Malibu would be this crazy magical place and then I got there and I was like, 'This is actually quite boring.' It's just a bunch of ripped people by a beach and a sushi place in the middle. It's a love song with that as the concept. The imagination of it is always greater than it actually is. I'm sure that's like Germany too - everyone's expecting pretzels and pigtails”

the article then goes on to say this (a three year old song) is the lead single from her “debut” album, whatever that means these days :D

If this *is* huge for her, I hope it doesn't get in the way of us getting a new Halloween EP from her this year.

There surely should have been some kind of Jessie J warning.

Malibu is great. I think I have settled on enjoying the odd song from Kim. Any album will probably be for cherry picking, her voice wears me down a bit on extended listening.

I love this :D so outside my usual listening but it is an undeniable anthem

seems to be growing on airplay and sales now.

it is definitely amplified by the fact that tomorrow is last day at work but it's SUCH A MOOD :disco:
