LISTENING PARTY - Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd (1 Viewer)

I mean this is lovely. Tells us nothing we don't already know but, y'know, so what?

I love The Grants so much. the bridge and chorus have to be among her most wilful, romantic moments... ever. the melodies are spectacular.

like Rocky Mountain High, the way John Denver sings
my sister's first-born child, I'm gonna take that too with me
my grandmother's last smile, I'm gonna take that too with me
it's a beautiful life, remember that too, for me...

and I love the intro. an instant LDR classic.

"Do you think about heaven?
Do you think about me?"

Her voice/the melody here is one of her best.

a recurring theme I've noticed across the singles and a couple of the album tracks so far is the way she sings about death - almost as if she's accepted it and is making plans.

I don’t like The Grants
Cheering Rooting GIF

The title track works better in context of the album but I am not shaking or crying over it.

09.5 Ocean Blvd - gorgeous, serene, majestic, already sounds more essential in the context of the album

Again, lovely but in a very well-defined style. I don't want her to go all Kid A on us but you could put these tracks on almost any other LDR album.

Although this verse makes me tingle

Harry Neilson has a song
His voice breaks at 2:05
Something about the way he says
Don't forget me

Makes me feel like...
