I was considering a Tori album knockout tournament in a bored moment but then remembered interest would probably be very little here! Anyway I was having a bit of a geek discussion (I'll not bore you with the details) about these two fantastic records. These are generally the two best known and highly regarded albums of hers beyond the immediate fanbase so which is your favourite?

Little Earthquakes for me, it has many of my favourite songs by her.
 
Some of the singles really had great crossover appeal for example bar China and God my mother loved all the singles to the point she could sing to them.

For a big Tori fan, I’m not actually that fused about Little Earthquakes.
OBVIOUSLY Winter, Precious Things and Crucify are all life-changing, and Silent All These Years is also a 10/10 (although I never need to her it again!) but Happy Phantom, Little Earthquakes and (sometimes) China & Leather (mood dependent) are all BLEH or annoying to me.
I wish Sugar and Flying Dutchman were on the album.

Under The Pink is a much stronger album overall, although it misses the peaks of Winter and Precious Things for me. However Bells For Her and Pretty Good Year are two of my ultimate Tori tracks :disco:

Again, I wish The Wrong Band was off this album and replaced with something else, probably Honey.

Let's face it those first four albums were all flawless from start to finish and it's not a 'wrong' answer if anyone picks any of them.
 
Didn’t Tori herself say she wished The Wrong Band wasn’t on Pink? I can’t remember what it was switched for - I think it actually was Honey.

Possibly unpopular Tori opinion - I’ve never been a fan of God. That TUNELESS INTRO :argh: I wish it hadn’t been a single, and they’d been brave enough to unleash BELLS FOR HER instead :disco:

I have become OBSESSED again this week with Under The Pink having not visited her in a long long time. This is because I was challenged to do one of those 10 album Facebook challenges and this is one of the 10. Plus now that I’m working from home I decided to accompany my shifts by playing every album I own from A-Z during lockdown. I hope we aren’t locked down until Z because I just finished the A’s. Tori took up a couple of shifts to herself.

i have that on dvd! one of the very few music dvds i own (along with kylie's fever, goldfrapp's wonderful electric and moloko's 11000 clicks).

OMG maybe that’s why she looks so good! It’s like an adult, confident Tori but without the ridiculous blown up face and orange wig that I’m used to seeing*

*Tori can do what she likes to her face, I have NO OPINION ON IT!

Controversial but I cannot cannot canNOT STAND “God” and “Cornflake Girl” and they really do put me off UTP altogether, so it very rarely gets an airing out of her earlier stuff.

“Baker Baker” however is in my Tori Top 5.
