Well as I HURTLE towards the day I die, this is officially TOPPING MY TREE as my favourite Christmas album
(followed closely by Tracey Thorn's similarly miserable Christmas opus Tinsel and Lights).
How PERVERSE that a band as incredible, and with a catalogue so deep and rich as Low will probably have a mini-Christmas album that was never even meant to have a FULL RELEASE go down as their most popular work
It's a total classic, and for good reason. 'Just Like Christmas' is one of my absolute favourite Christmas songs, I can listen to it on repeat and not get bored. It's actually very uplifting, and I find it really BEAUTIFUL to listen to:
In a Christmas crossover of my DREAMS, Tracey Thorn covered Taking Down The Tree and made it a TINY bit more spritely than the Low original
Any other FANZ? I love that the band have embraced it, and do occasional Christmas shows (or DID before the world burned)
