Nice and demure in Saudi Arabia tonight :side-eye:

I'm also slightly annoyed she did it. But then I remember how every time a celebrity decides to talk politics they're told to shut up because they're "just entertainers".

It would've been better if she had worn something scandalous. Just to show them what freedom looks like.

The performance wasn't very good, but the acceptance speech is light years better than anyone can manage these days .QUEEN

why does she appear to be FROZEN in every single performance? she looked terrified and dodged all the high notes. FUCK U MARIAH*

*not really but I wanted to spaz out and she wasn't being helpful

What a fabulous speech

I’ve yet to see the perf but she heard performed A No No?

Watch out for that 19th Number One ladies :disco:

Her speech was sensational and really emotional. I was surprised how choked up I got. There's no popstar more sincere than Mariah when she turns off diva for a second and just talks openly about her love of music.

It’s interesting! I’d love to see her reaction to it!

They’re so on point though. The difference between her performance level at a gig compared to a televised show is huge.

It’s like she is overcome with fear that her voice will let her down and she’ll be a laughing stock (again) it makes me sad. On your she is so free and at peace (probably because she’s lipping but...)

Yeah, I wonder why her voice is so different between something on TV and somewhere she’s in entire control of the process and can get everyone involved to sign all sorts of non-disclosure agreements :side-eye:

I mean, the audience footage of her With You GMA performance revealed that the vocal she gave was fantastic and actually FAR BETTER than how it sounded on the TV broadcast. And it's not like she's not had numerous terrible vocal nights in concert. So I don't really subscribe to this

Oh please we all know that Mariah Carey's "live" vocals are 60% backing tracks, 30% backing singers and 10% her own live singing and yeah yeah yeah everyone's gonna come back with a "But at least she COULD sing 10 years ago! Still better than Madame Z! etc. etc." and that may be true but I am still entitled to my ONION

Sorry I mean OPINION.

It might be shady by anyone else's standards but by Mariah aka THE QUEEN OF SHADE's standards? I'd say it's playful fun.

In fact I hope Madonna replies (she won't.)

I really feel that this most recent concert has been a turnaround for her

She is singing live so much more than she’s done in years and is sounding on form.

She might reply now that she and Mariah are co-habiting in the DUMPER. Neither is a threat to each other anymore.

Really like this video

I saw her live in 2016 in Helsinki and she sounded great. I think she had a flu or something on this gig. Unless something has happened to her voice in three years.

OH??

Which reminds me, does she sing this PASSION SINGLE on this tour? I still live for it.

Madonna didn't reply because she probably forgot her password to unlock her Huawei

The Old Town Road thing is at 12 weeks at #1 and still going strong by the look of it :bad:

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for her record to be threatened given how slow the charts are these days.

The US chart always was much slower though - or at least comparatively to ours even before it hit its mad peak.

Is it even slower than it used to be? And do they have ACR or an equivalent?

I suppose the fact that the Hot 100 has always been at least partially airplay based means the shift to Spotify has been less dramatic.

Apparently Despacito already tied Mariah's 16 week record.

The songs in joint-second with 14 weeks mostly hail from pre-Spotify though.

Boyz II Men - End of the Road
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
Los Del Rio - Macarena
Elton John - Candle In The Wind
Mariah Carey - We Belong Together
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk
