Matthew Perry DEAD (1 Viewer)

Could this be more shocking? It really is though. No age at all.

Friends hasn't exactly stood the test of time for many of us here, but what a mammoth impact this show had on me during its run - and Perry/Chandler always felt like was the character the writers channeled/Chandlered themselves most into.

Wow, so sad. I have many happy memories watching Friends when I was what felt like similar ages and similar circumstances to them all. He seemed troubled for quite some time, and I hope he is now at peace. :(

:( I love him in Friends and he always was very troubled

Absolutely heartbroken about this. Friends was a huge part of my teenhood, and even adulthood now, something I'll put on to pass the time, and Chandler was always my favourite.

I am very aware he had his demons tho, and hope he's found peace :(

He was so hot in this era.

This has hit me quite heard actually. I only just finished autobiography audiobook last week (highly recommended by the way), and I just felt so much empathy for him. Even listening to him narrate the book, I think he could tell the writing was on the wall for him and it was rather poignant. Anyway, may he rest in peace and I hope that his legacy will continue to shine a light.

The people that rush to make these!

(It's very sad though, say what you will about Friends, for me and others my age it was probably the first representation of young adult life we'd watched - albeit an unrealistic one!)

The early seasons of Friends are so ingrained into my brain that at school, if you were in an exam and finished early, you were often told to just put your head down on the desk and wait. If I had 20 minutes left I would mentally play an episode in my head to pass the time. TOW The East German Laundry Detergent (Janice’s debut) was my go-to episode.

In fairness Chandler was my 8th favourite regular or recurring character but he was still essential to the show. Phoebe's open contempt for him in later seasons was fantastic.

I remember watching a programme in the late 90s where the 3 male leads were being interviewed by Gaby Roslin and Matthew Perry was the one who was genuinely funny. As much as Friends hasn't aged well, he was easily the best performer and the most influential character. RIP.

I believe that was when they came to film the London episodes. I remember there was a whole special about it with that Gaby interview.

So incredibly sad and tragic. He was always my favourite Friend.

I have already seen a tweet from a person asking if they’re the only gay that has never seen an episode of Friends
